Expensive, But Worth Every Penny

As always, Allen Edmonds has created an awesome product. This is my second pair of AE shoes. Yes they are expensive, but if taken care of and with the redrafting program through AE, they should last years if not decades. I think these are great for a dressy yet casual look with denim. The rubber soles are nice in that they provide a bit more traction than the traditional leather soles and I don't have to worry about being as careful about making sure the sole dries properly if I'm out in the rain with them. Very comfortable...they feels almost as comfortable as wearing tennis shoes (after a short break in period)...these are my go to shoes when I want to look good but know I'll be doing a lot of walking (I've worn them all day while exploring new cities). Highly recommended. These will definitely not be the last pair of Allen Edmonds shoes I buy!

Are these counterfeit? Don't seem like real Allen Edmonds.

I bought these and a pair directly from Allen Edmonds, too. (I bought the pair from Allen Edmonds first, but saw that they popped up in my Amazon feed, too, and figured I could save 5% by using my Amazon credit card). When they arrived, I assumed they would all be the same. Same box. Same size. Same everything. They're not. The shoes from Allen Edmond directly: (1) smelled like amazing full grain leather (2) had very tight white stitching around the sole and (3) all stitching was straight with many small stitches. The pair I received from Amazon: (1) smelled like nothing. (2) stitching was more variables, without the straight lines and small tight stitches like the pair sent straight from AE. It was strange to me that they would be different. The UPC codes on the box were even slightly different. I'm returning these to Amazon. I've also purchased a pair of Puma's in the past which were unlike the originals and am concerned about buying shoes from Amazon going forward.

The Real Deal

I have about 10 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes and have never ordered a pair off of Amazon before. I was concerned with the possibility of "fakes" or "factory seconds" being sold as original, first quality. However, my size was sold out on Allen Edmonds' site and I wanted this pair for casual wear. When they arrived I scrutinized them heavily but I am convinced they are, indeed, factory originals in first quality. Additionally, this particular style is perfect for casual wear with jeans, especially in wet weather due to the rubber sole.

great shoe!

wow! I needed a nice looking, casual shoe and this really fits the bill. I love the Allen Edmonds brand. Yes, they are expensive. But honestly, I would rather have a more expensive shoe that is comfortable and will last me years than a cheap alternative that will need to be replaced every year. I wore these shoes for the first time for the whole day. My feet were fine. I wore them in the rain, my feet were dry. They have a great shine and got me compliments.

Worst product I ever got from amazon.

Both shoes had a couple of major defects. They were also missing the replacement laces and the sole had a lot of dust on them (clearly worn before). Probably the worst item I ever received from Amazon.

Very disappointing for shoes with the Allen Edmonds name.

It looks like I received a pair of seconds - they had some very obvious/apparent defects which was incredibly disappointing.
