Works to stop Dove's from nesting above my patio doors.
I have had a problem with the Dove's nesting and making a mess on the patio. These are working very well, nesting season is just about over and I have not had a problem this year. I did have a smaller bird that was able to get in behind the spikes and make himself a very nice, super secure nesting spot. Smart Birdie! Much cleaner and nicer this year in my patio area.

Our house abuts a large lake and our roof being the highest point on the lake draws, the seagulls and other birds the roof to perch and scope out the fish in the lake. Consequently, our roof gets ruined with the bird feces. Put up the bird spikes and they don't even land anymore., 20 feet of the spikes covered the peak. So happy with this purchase; just had a new roof installed and very happy that it will remain clean and looking good.

Larger then expected
I didn’t realize how big these would be. I’ve been busy and now that spring is starting I opened the box. I’d like to return them but I missed the return window by 1 day.

Works great to deter birds from nesting on porch!
We installed these spikes on all columns where birds like to perch and build nests in our porch. It is a safe way to deter birds!

Sayonara Sayornis ....
We live in Georgia and we have the Sayornis Phoebe ...aka Eastern Phoebe. You'll know it by it's "phee-bee" call. This has got to be one of the more obstinate, single-minded and stubborn avian in the bird world when it comes to making a nest ...on any shelf-like structure and, in particular, the front porch of our home. Up underneath our front porch we have a narrow shelf created by some trim along the main support beam for the porch roof. We have tried everything to keep these birds from building their half-mud and straw nests to no avail. These birds will mindlessly ...we are talking a bird brain here ...build on too narrow a shelf to support the nest-to-be ...resulting in a consistent mess of mud and moss and straw on the porch below the ill-suited construction site. Apparently when Momma decides "This is the place." ain't no amount of common sense ...once again a bird brain here ...gonna sway her decision even if every beak-ful of nest making material falls off and simply results in a pile of dirt and moss and straw on the porch deck. These Bird-X plastic spikes have saved the day. Oh they tried ...these Phoebes ...but the spikes make it totally impossible for the birds to land on any shelf areas of the porch at our house. The spikes are a clear, hard plastic so they are almost invisible and they have successfully kept Sayornis Phoebe from nesting on our porch. There are two ways to install these spikes; in a single or double line. The coverage distance shown on the box is for a single line of the spikes; cut the distance in half if you need to use a double line. For protecting narrow "shelf" areas, the single line would probably work best ...providing the shelf isn't too wide; that's what worked for my application. The shelf on our porch is about 2-2.5" wide. The spikes have a cant or tilt to them. When they are installed in a double row, they cant outward from each side along their line of installation. With a single row installation, one side will cant outward and one side will point straight up. When installing the spikes in single file you need to determine which way to place the cant and realize for some birds ...if they can get behind the spikes they will ...and your efforts will be for naught. In dealing with my shelf, I installed the spikes with the canted side next to the roof support beam and the straight up side facing outward. With this setup there was no way the birds could get behind the row of spikes ...and it has been successful for deterring the Phoebes for the last two years. You can attach the spikes to your structure using the included glue ...which I didn't ...or you can use nails or small screws; I used small screws ...a little harder to install initially but a whole lot easier to replace if any get broken. Apparently a lot of success, or not, depends on the type of bird you're trying to dissuade ...so I can't guarantee the Bird-X spike will be as successful in every situation for every kind of bird. All I can say is we have said "Sayonara" to the Sayornis Phoebe at our house.

Great idea in theory…
Checked a couple days after installing these to see if the birds are staying off the outdoor speakers only to find they’ve built their nest behind the spikes…so no, they didn’t work for me.

So far they appear to be doing the job. Saw two birds attempt to land one got itself on the ledge but there wasn't enough room so it flew away. I think these are going to work just fine.
