Great carb
Straight forward install, I put this on a 1979 10 HP single cylinder briggs. Purrs like a kitty. Had to make minor adjustments.

perfect. should have bought years ago.
installed on an 88 encore walk behind 48 inch mower, 12hp briggs. perfecr fit, started first attempt, very little tunning needed. have owned this mower since 2000, had the carb rebuilt in 2002. ran good until the other day when the butterfly in the carb broke in half. ordered this one, this mower runs 100% better, 3x the power, and it ran good before. unbelievable difference in starting, idling, smoothness, and power. should have purchased this carb years ago.

Manufacture defect caused me to return it, it would have solved my issue.
It was the correct part, but it had a manufacturing defect and had to return. The high side screw on top was barely screwed into the threads because the threads in the body were not right. When I went to adjust it, it would not screw in. Your supposed to bottom it out and turn it out 1.5 turns and start from there. So I tried to screw it in and snapped the screw. I was not happy because this was the solution to my problem. It appears to me that the threads in the cast steel were not right. I have initiated a return but was surprised I was not given the option to do a 1 for one swap since it was defective.

12 HP 1990 Briggs engine now runs well
Worked fine. Started immediately. Runs better than the original carburetor 26 years ago. But, I suspect that the original idle set screw connected to throttle plate/governor stop was out of adjustment, when comparing new to old plate position. Nothing in original manual to address this adjustment. Briggs web site sparse on information on this vital adjustment. Expensive fix, but it runs.

This thing carb worked just fine.
I installed it on a mower that had been abandoned out in the field and exposed to the elements for years. I cleaned it up and gave it a fresh coat of paint then put this carb on. I changed the oil, cleaned the tank, and installed a new battery. The mower came to life two revolutions later. I digress. The carb worked great and was of solid construction. It's working just as good now as when I put it on.

Works fine, 20 year old tractor started right up and running fine ever since. Still expensive even though Amazon was the best price, as most parts are a rip-off.

Keeping My 28 year old running
Replaced a 1988 212-H WHEELHORSE carburator that was the original. I've had this Wheelhose since new and they don't make lawn tractors of this quality anymore. So happy it fit perfect and hopefully I'm good for another 28 years. Runs great.. Was mowing lawn that same morning I installed it.
