This cast protector was a great buy!
This cast protector was a great buy!! I'm soooo glad I purchased it!! This cast cover is an adult size. The cover itself is long at about 21" from the finger tips to the opening. The diameter of the plastic connector opening that your arm goes through is about 5". If you have thick arms, you may want to measure before purchasing. I tried using trash bags and duct tape to cover my cast for the first few days that I had it. It was awful - uncomfortable and painful. If you are reading this then you probably understand what I mean. The Carex cast cover made showering less miserable. The latex opening fit snugly around my arm keeping water out. Slightly uncomfortable, but very bearable. The plastic is thick and holds up well. I would recommended not directly submerging your arm into water or directly pouring water near the opening. However I felt confident that my cast would stay dry (and it did) if the remainder of the cast cover got wet in the shower. I did notice that condensation built up on the inside a few times, that was easily avoidable as long as I kept the water temp down.

Works great!
My 14 year old son had surgery on his wrist and now has a short arm cast. We tried the Dry Pro Waterproof cast cover and could not get it to open wide enough to slip his arm in. He was in so much pain as we tried and tried to no avail. When we received the Carex cast protector, he was nervous. But it worked great! I still have to help him put it on as he can not do it one handed. I don't think it would be possible for anyone to do this one handed. The plastic ring is just a bit wider than the cast so it catches on my fingers as I'm pulling it up, no biggie though. It's very easy to slip off though. So no more trash bags and duck tape! I found a video on YouTube that shows a cast cover very much like this one. It's a video of a leg cast cover but the plastic ring and diaphragm are the same. The video is called "How to use your Drycast Cast Cover." Once I watched this video, I ordered this Carex brand hoping the plastic ring and diaphragm worked in the same way, and it does. Watch the video, it helped me make up my mind and I'm glad I order this product.

This was too large on my husband!
This works GREAT! We had been Macgyver-ing a bag with tape for a couple of days before this arrived and this was a dream! The seal was tight (even though there was a lot of excess plastic for the arm) and waterproof. My husband used it for over two months with no issues at all with his cast getting wet. It made shower time so much easier and worry-free which is super helpful during a time like wrist surgery!

Works. Size runs very large!
First, this runs very large! It shows a child on the front of the package, they should show a grown man! This will fit an adult better than a child. It works!! It does stop any water from getting in. However, I did notice that my arm/hand sweat more (from the hot water in the shower, no doubt). so my hand wasn't completely dry from the sweat. But as far as any shower water getting in there it worked great!

I broke my thumb and didn't want to take off my thumb spica to shower (the doctor said I could) so I bought this. My only complaint is that it's far too long to cover just my hand - I couldn't find any for just that purpose. Otherwise it was easy to use and I was able to use the fingers that weren't broken even with this on.

Works great. However, I ordered the adult small - I think I have small arms, maybe I don't. Anyway, it was so tight it cut off my circulation so I would order a medium if I had it to do again. But it did keep my cast dry and was lots easier than trying to tie two garbage bags on with only one hand!

This is a great product. My son broke his wrist right before leaving on our vacation. This waterproof cast protector came in very handy. He was able to swim for about 30 minutes at a time before a very small amount of water started to come in at which point he hopped out of the water. It is a very sturdy product. I'm not sure that its intended for swimming, but like I said, he was able to swim with it and was very happy. It was also used in the shower and kept his cast completely dry.
