Great watch, but takes FOREVER to charge
We had a very hard time getting this watch charged. It's been a month and it's still not fully charged. My husband loves it other than that.

So much technology on your wrist it's amazing what Casio can do.
This is a perfect watch for hikers. It's solar powered, timer, chronograph, multiple time zones, DST function, altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer, 100M water resistant, solar powered, tells you the sunset/sunrise time (you must set the proper longitude and latitude coordinates on the watch though), battery life indicator, records elevation and pressure, motion activated night light that can be set to 1 or 3 seconds, hourly chime, 5 alarms, and did I miss something? There's so much technology on this watch that I had to get it. I bought it for $70 new and it was an absolute steal! I've taken this thing up to nearly 8000 ft above sea level and it's pretty accurate as I compared my altitude to the surrounding signs around me. Just make sure that you adjust the compass first as well as your longitude and latitude. The thermometer is obviously something you need to be keen on because it will be affected by your wrist. Mines was typically hotter by about 10-13 degrees F (6-9 degrees C) when compared to the ambient temp. Off your wrist it's obviously a lot more accurate but remember to calibrate it to get the most accurate result. The motion for the night light requires you to turn your wrist towards you quite a bit so you don't accidentally turn it on to drain battery. So you really have to purposefully turn your wrist towards your body to get it to turn on, but there are times when it was turned on accidentally when I've picked it up. Since it's solar powered I don't fret too much over it. Speaking of the solar power the battery is reported to last around 7 months without any additional light. It'll charge on any light but all the ABC functions turn off if the power is low. The indicator has 3 settings: L, M, and H for low, medium, and high. For M and H all functions will work. Sunlight works the best and in optimal conditions the watch will charge fully from near zero to full in about 8 hours of direct sunlight...maybe even less. Indoor light can take days or weeks to get to full. I keep battery saver on so that after about 24h of inactivity the watch enters sleep mode. It'll still keep the time and all your settings though and the alarm will go off. The home screen itself has several options: it can display a graph showing pressure changes within the last few hours. I've found it pretty accurate for predicting inclimate weather and was very useful. Besides a barometric graph it can display your usual day/date or month/date. The compass was very accurate as I own an actual compass and compared it, but note that you can calibrate it if need be. Since I live in the US I've used the imperial units, but metric units are available as well. I've also taken this watch into the shower several times and can indeed assure it's 100M WR label. This is very useful when you need to wash the watch. BUT PLEASE do not press any buttons under water...ALL watches lose their WR rating when pressing buttons under water and that's how people complain about the WR rating. The only con I can think of is the strap. It's not comfortable and since it's proprietary it requires that you spend like $35-$50 on straps. You can't install your own so please don't break the strap and hope that you don't chafe easily. NOTE: I want to make note that there are models that are similar to this but this watch is missing the atomic time keeping feature. It does not have a radio and would be the most perfect outdoor watch if it did. There are other Pro-Trek models that look just like this (minus the orange camo) that have the atomic time keeping, so please keep this in mind.

reliable and beautiful
They look stylish and brutal, they work without problems, the relatively small size of the case, especially given their huge capabilities. Working hours for training, or those who require reliability: builders, mechanics, etc. The case is shock-resistant, the strap is reliable and comfortable, what more could you want from a watch? The only thing is not suitable if you prefer a sophisticated style, or not very suitable for office work where dress code is required

Great watch. Main in the ass to find watch bands for.
As the title says. Absolutely a great watch. But a huge pain to find any bands for

Sweet little ProTrek!
Got this on an Amazon Deal for over 60% off, so I couldn't resist. It looks/fits great and was easy to setup. It is smaller than many of the bulkier G-Shocks and ProTreks, so would be fine for women and younger boys or girls if so inclined. I love the solar charging function and would have been really nice to have the Atomic Clock feature, but once it's set you won't have to mess with it too much. I haven't used the ABC functions much as of yet, but will definitely try those functions out on my next camping/hunting trips

Looks really good with a plain black band
Takes a bit of time to learn the controls, but I use this everyday. It hasn't left my wrist since I got this many months ago. I had to change out the band though. The orange was a bit too aggressive. Looks really good with a plain blackCasio Genuine Replacement Strap / Bands for Casio Pro Trek Watch PRW-6000 band.

Great watch, crappy band!
This is a great "triple sensor" watch. It's surprisingly small and light for the features it packs (solar charging and the sensors). Sensors all appear to be quite accurate although Altimeter is a little wonky as it can change quite a bit with changes in barometric pressure (which does make some sense I suppose). Other than that, the barometer and compass sensors appear to be quite accurate when compared to readings from other dedicated devices I have. The backlight works well and the watch appears to stay charged with the sun as advertised. The only real knock against this watch (besides occasional altimeter wonkiness) is the watch band. It feels similar to wearing a plastic bag around your wrist which is a really crappy feeling. So I have made a paracord watch strap for it instead (you'll find lots of options with a quick internet search) that's WAY more comfortable out of orange paracord for less than $5. I've taken a star off for slightly wonky altimeter (I have nowhere near the variations posted by another reviewer) and the strap
