SO MUCH BETTER THAN…
First my Apologies to the big A company for this as they push another brand of cutters and crimpers that starts with a “W” & ends with a “y”. I help a friend to install show quality car audio, not that stuff you hear from a 100 yards away. But shine & show vehicle stuff where the vehicle is the main attraction. I insulate, mount and run wiring to the components. If we need something made from metal or aluminum I pay another gentleman who welds. My friend does the wire terminating and makes the wooden parts. Any time a wire shows / not hidden it’s uniform. So I purchased the OVERPRICED set of the “W___y” crimpers because of all the rave reviews that must be paid for. Yes ladies and gentlemen there are companies that pay for good reviews I’ve been offered before. Now neither one of us using the “W___y” crimpers can keep the wires from pulling out about 25% of the time. Yes the “W___y” crimpers make pretty crimps but they suck for holding wires. Plus you start to ratchet down the ratchet crimpers and somehow you let the wire or crimp move you are screwed. It’s next to impossible to release the ratchet crimpers or you waste a crimp. Now these good old school / fashion cutter and crimpers absolutely crimps the wire and it says! The crimp may not look the prettiest but they are easy, fast and HOLD the wire. Please don’t make the same mistake I made, buy a tool that works! Now each of us own a pair of long lasting good old Channellock‘s‼️

You can't ever go wrong with Channellock products. I'm positive these will perform great for years to come just like the rest of the Channellock products I already own and use.

Works Well but the Quality is not Great
These crimpers work very well, and you can get a lot of leverage with the long handles. I bought a pair of crimpers years ago from Auto Zone and the issue I’ve always had with those is they tend to cut through and damage the insulation on the crimp connectors, these Chanbellock ones don’t damage the insulation at all which is nice. The only downside of these crimpers are the cosmetic issues. A lot of the edges are very sharp and the finish in general just isn’t as good as it about be for $30. I had the same issue on a pair of Channellock pliers that I bought recently as well. The first thing I did is use my Dremel and a grinding stone to knock down the sharp edges and the areas that feel very rough. Now they actually feel comfortable to use.

Great American wire strippers. They are a little small although, should be fine for small home jobs.

Great crimping pliers
Channel lock has done it again. Well built, machining quality is great and you can get leverage to crimp. They cut wire with easy as well. I recommend these and they are great for the price.
