LOVE IT!

I had already purchased a Chilly Dog sweater for my older dog and was so pleased with the quality. So when I wanted a warmer wool sweater for my new pup during this exceptionally cold winter that we’ve had this year, I knew I wanted another Chilly Dog. The hat is a too big for my little gal…it covers her eyes if I put it on, but that is fine with her! Overall, it is great quality and super cute!

Adorable—but sized small!

Super awesome sweater! Very well-made and cute, but make sure you either try one out from Chilly Dogs locally or order from a place that has free returns. These tend to be sized very small (go up one—preferably two—sizes to be safe). We have a 11 pound pom/sheltie mix who ended up in a medium after we went through a couple exchanges from a local store. He is very long and fluffy so these are things to take into account. I bought this sweater in an extra large for our 31 pound 9-month old Whippet-lab mix. He tends to be tall and broad-chested for his size (IOW - he's easily mistakable for a 40+ pound dog) and will be growing a little more so I sized up even beyond what I thought would fit him. It fits him very nicely and will still look great if he puts on 5-10 pounds. Because they have no sleeves and are very high cut on the bottom (perfect for male dogs) you can't go wrong getting one that's a bit bigger. It's a great sweater otherwise. Nice, soft, and thick. Definitely wash it in cold and delicate (if not hand-wash) as the red will probably bleed. The hoodie is adorable, and Chilly Dogs are probably the only pet apparel I've had that actually have hoodies that stay on the dogs' heads. It's also very comfortable for our dogs. The seams are nice and thin (though still well-sewn), and the wool isn't scratchy—even to me (I'm a little sensitive to wool). This one has a cute design on it. Definitely a must for any fan of monkeys or sock monkeys. A nice comfy way to take goofy dog pictures that is well-made enough to actually be useable and enjoyable for the dog during a cold winter walk.

Almost perfect

My dog has started to lose her fur as she gets older, so I have been looking for sweaters. It seems like all the good ones are sold out of the larger sizes (or just not stocked) at my local pet stores and Target, so I was experimenting on Amazon. My dog is 47 pounds (a lab, the runt of her litter) and the extra large fits her great (though I'm not sure it would fit a 60-pound dog as advertised...). It goes all the way from her neck to her tail with plenty of room for the width of her chest and for her front legs to go through the sleeves. I can actually put the little hood up if I want to take a picture (though it doesn't really stay, nor does it really need to). It is not a terribly soft wool, unfortunately, which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5. The pattern is cute, the weave is tight, and the look is just as pictured, but I think she probably gets a bit itchy in it. My dog is very tolerant of wearing clothes, so a dog who's not used to wearing sweaters may have a problem with the comfort level of this one. I haven't tried washing it yet but I will probably air dry to avoid shrinking.

Yes but maybe No

I bought this for my 8lb chihuahua. She's is a very cold sensitive dog, and needed the extra warmth which this does seem to provide. It has a thick feel to it and seems pretty well made. Of course the monkey is adorable and I love the hood with ears, but my gripe with the hood is that it is hard to stretch over her head and it does not stay on well. As you can see in the manufacturers provided photo the dog is looking back at the photographer and so the head is not stretching the hood. The hood would be ok when Im holding her and we are in bad weather or wind I can temporarily hold it down on her head thats the only time she really needs it anyway if not for the awkward hood it would be 5 stars. Also I would havd liked it to have partial sleeves, as the arms and armpits are open to the weather and that may present a problem for dogs in very cold climates. On the plus side the body of the sweater comes all the way to her tail. After considering all these things you will have to decide if its right for your dog.

Amazing quality

I was so excited to find this cheaper on amazon compared to the website I used to work at chewy.com (stay away from them, horrible company to work for) and fell in love with these dog sweaters They are amazing quality and I know my fluffy little rat will be warm when she goes outside. Also the hood and pattern are so adorable. I got my first one about a year ago and my dog wears it every day during the winter months, its held up and I haven't had to wash it yet (my dog has hair not fur). Wash in cold water and air dry if needed! Wool is so fussy

very cute sweater, especially the ears. just like the "chilly dog bunny hoodie", this one seems to fit as intended and seems to be pretty warm. Our boxer mix gets pretty warm after wearing it in the house for a little while. I'm not sure if it's just our broad chested, knucklehead or if it's a flaw, but the neck of the sweater has stretched out and started to unravel a bit in the front. It's gotten to the point that it's un-wearable for her as it's just too loose and she ends up wearing it like a skirt!

Cute sweater!

My lab/sharpei rescue is about 40lbs, 15" around the neck, 21" from neck to tail and 26" around his chest. Buying clothes for him gets difficult since his chest is so large, making clothes too long or restrictive around his front legs. I purchased the XL and it fits great around the chest, even giving him room to move his front legs comfortably. The XL is too long for him but it wasn't a big deal since I just folded the bottom part over and sewed it in place. I think he looks super cute but his facial expressions tell me that he thinks he looks dorky. The wool is thick and durable. I'm glad I purchased a quality product and know that my dog will be warm on his winter walks outside.

LOVE IT!

LOVE IT !!!! Looks so cue on my 4 lb chi. Would be a 5 star but end of yarn was not finished well, and is coming apart after one use. will need to have my friend repair it. Bought a xxs, xl, and m for my 3 dogs. The xl was way too big for my english bulldog, as she is heavy but short bodied.

Super cute

A little small, lengthwise, but fits my baby great dane pretty well. The hood was not designed for dogs with longer necks, like Danes so I can't put the hood up on him, which was a little disappointing as that's the main reason I bought it for him, but is very cute nonetheless. Everywhere he wears it, he gets compliments.

Very cute and good quality but would recommend sizing up

Very cute and great quality. It is thick so it will keep Stewie warm during the winter. Although the material has stretch, I would recommend ordering a size up. Stewie is approximately between 70 and 80 pounds and I ordered the XXL.

Nice sweater

I love this sweater but my puppy didn’t like it and I had to remove the hood for him to like it. Before I fixed it I found that it was too tight on his neck. It’s nice and warm and my pup looks very cute in it.

The size is perfect but could have been a little longer

I have a 7lbs dachshund. I ordered x-small and she's about 12" long. The size is perfect but could have been a little longer. The sweater is well made but does run a little small.
