Not very portable

So the only just received it today and Saturday night for a couple minutes not long at all it's very sturdy very comfortable the mesh on the back feels like Arrow flow through pretty well so I think it would be good in that sense I don't think it'll be overly hot or anything however it is it's not overly heavy but it's not something that you're going to carry for you know a walk up the beach or something this is going to be something you take like from the sidewalk to the beach and set it up right there not something you're going to be carrying around any period of time or anything like that I was planning on keeping it in my car I have a Prius and I think there's enough room in the back for it to sit back there but it is going to leave much room for anything else so I don't know if he'll be keeping it in my car cuz I like to go to local park and things like that and sit and have a drink and relax sometimes and is having a cup holder and all is nice but just don't think it's going to quite work as an in the car all the time type deal they'll still work for if I'm planning to go to the go somewhere and you know have like a little picnic kind of thing but it won't be far from where I park and it'll definitely be planned I don't think this will be something that will be staying in my car all the time like I was hoping also I purchased a used or you know damage packaging one or whatever whatever it was they described it as and everything is fine with it except the bracket that holds the shade visor out of the way when it's folded up and things like that it's broken off so sucks but for $10 less it doesn't break my heart not to have that

If you are tall, beware!

Overall, this is a comfortable chair and I really like the sun shade. But I’m 6’2” and the chair is not long enough. The bottom rail of the chair hits me in the Achilles tendon on the back of my ankle. The manufacturer must assume that the only reason to want a chair that is rated to 400lbs is we’re heavy.

great product with one cheap detail

Received the chair today, earlier than expected, very happy about that. We were looking for a chair with a sunshade, therefore the choices were limited. After a disappointing product from another supplier we settled on this model. The chair is beautiful and very comfortable but when we opened the box the clip for the sunshade was broken .....again. Same problem we had with the previous supplier. There is only one clip, on one side holding the sunshade it place. That creates too much stress on the clip and it breaks during transit. We bought a set about 8 years ago which has a clip on both sides to hold the sunshade firmly in place. it is still functioning to this day. That is the way it should be. Someone had the great idea to save $ .20 per chair in the manufacturing process. But by doing so they created a $ 20.00 headache in returns and probably a $ 200.00 damage in reputation. We call that penny wise and dollar foolish. This little piece diminishes an overall great product and makes me wonder about the entire product line... Where else did they possibly skimp? Conclusion, the chair is very nice and a good value for the money so I recommend it if you do not care about a broken clip, but if you do be prepared to return it until they get it right.

i am picky

well, so i am pretty darned picky and i have to say this chair is quite good..no it is not perfect..it has no cushion whatsoever and yes, you can feel some of the bars because of this but not enough to be uncomfortable really..it is quite sturdy..be aware that it takes a very good amount of maneuvering to actually lean and back and forward so if you have back issues or leg issues, good luck..it doesnt slide easily and is very heavy to carry to and fro..i have the hubby do it..what we do like is the awning and cup holders, and the large size..much larger than standard ones that are like airplane seats..all in all, if you are looking for a solid, last a long time chair, and you dont mind schleping it with a bit of muscle, you should give it a try.

Bungee broke first use

The first time my husband used the chair it broke as he was sitting there; one of the bungee cords just broke lose and he is nowhere near the stated weight limit. What a waste of money and it was a gift. Total let down. Also, if you are a tall person >6’1”, your head will hit the sun shade as you sit there. My husband is 6’4” it he can’t lower it or it sits on the top of his head. It still won’t stop the sun from burning the top-back part of your head that is not covered if you happen to be a little thin on hair in that area. A total waste of money. I am returning it.

Great chairs, but not weather proof.

I ordered two of these chairs so I would have a set. They are good quality, and very comfortable. I really like the shade cover that can be pulled forward for shade or pushed back for full sun. I ordered these chairs because I thought they were weather proof/water proof. I gave three stars because the arms are made from real wood. I've only had them a month and they are starting to crack from the sun and they are mildewing in the rain. Already the arms are rough and you have to be careful when you rest your arm on them. I'm going to sand and stain the arms only to help preserve them. I've owned this type of chair before and the arms were made of hard plastic. I think that works better. Everything else about the chair is great. I keep these on my deck in the full sun.
