They have changed
I’ve bought several of these over the years. These are cut the same etc but much thinner than in the past. Not sure if that is good or bad. But it is a change. So far, after several washings they hold up well. Seems good to go !

Too small. Size up.
These shorts run small in the crotch and waist, and are inflexible even compared to other Columbia omnidry shorts I've owned, making them uncomfortable. I recommend sizing up for these shorts. However, overall I do like the style. It is convenient to have belt loops so that I can use a phone holder with a belt while trail running, backpacking/hiking, or doing other things such as yard work. So your phone is easy to access to take photos or for listening to music. It works much better than trying to keep your phone in your pocket! Great Fit
I like the lighter weight and quick dry of these nylon shorts. I have several pair, but wanted to add black to my collection. I’m not a fisherman, great for travel or just everyday wear.

Nothing Wrong With the Shorts; They Just Did Not Fit
I returned these. The 32" waist that I purchased was too baggy, so I purchased the next smaller size which was a 30" waist. These are a little tight in the waist, but better than the baggy everywhere 32's, so I'm keeping the 30's. I purchased 30's years ago and they still fit great, so sizing has changed over the years. I could sure use a 31" waist in today's Columbia product line.

The Shorts to wear in the Caribbean during Covid times.....
I'm currently living in the Caribbean (Dom Rep) and as you know temperature here are in the 90's F / 30-34 C. Its freaking hot and humid!!! With Covid-19 lock down we have to stay most of the time inside the house and this shorts are the perfect tool to feel comfortable and fresh. PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE A MASK when going out. Im 5'11 and 180 Lbs and bought 34' Size they fit great and would say they are very giftable. Only bought the Khaki color and Dark gray, I wish Columbia would have other color options as well.

Lightweight PFG Columbia short- ran a bit small
My husband has quite a few pair of the PFG golf shorts. I bought these as a more casual beach option for him. Loved the lightweight fabric. Disappointed in the fit. Theses shorts ran a bit short in the crotch and tight in the waist compared to his other Columbia PFG shorts. I had to return these. He's a 42-10 in this shorts and I did not go up a size because 44 would have been way too big in the waist.
