soft and squishy

I have been spending time with crayons lately. Why? I am an adult realizing that I need some art therapy in my life! I have found there are a variety of "crayons" available, some softer than others, some with metallic bits in them, some mixed colors, etc. I have found for my own drawings I prefer more saturated colors that can come from softer drawing implements. So I tried some oil pastels which are pretty soft to these Crayola "Pearlescent Cream Sticks". These "cream sticks" seem softer than the oil pastels, but without quite the range of colors and saturation I like. Still, the pearlescent quality is interesting, adding a fine metallic touch without graininess on most papers. If these cream sticks did not have a plastic casing around them, I would think them quite messy on the hands. They are definitely soft and oil-like during drawing. I wish they came in a more dark colors, but they do add a nice accent when used with oil pastels.

Fantastic

The colors that came in set are fantastic. They lay down soft ( don’t have use a lot of pressure) the only major complaint I have is that the tin was dented. It did not happen during shipment. Also did not affect the pencils

Make a larger set please

I originally bought this for my sister who loves using gel sticks for coloring in adult coloring books. These are great for brightness and added dimension. I am now also hooked on using these

One didn’t work out of the tin.

Opened it as soon as it arrived. Orange Circuit failed to work upon opening. Tried twisting the end to advance the crayon and it did not budge. These are not made for weak hands or fingers. If you have carpal tunnel or any other debilitating illness that causes weakness in your hands. These are not for you. The caps are difficult to remove. The twist end to advance the crayons are difficult to turn. Really not worth the time or effort. Look elsewhere.

I’m out of practice but…..

I’m out of practice with blending pastels and chalk etc but these things are like trying to color with lipstick. Which is no big deal but for others but I’m totally out of practice with blending, usage, etc. pretty to look at but my end result is not what I had in my mind.

fun new product

These were fun for kids/adults of all ages at weeklong family reunion. Wish there were more colors, but everyone really liked the pearl finish and the storage box is beautiful. Easy to use, and small children immediately get bright colors without pressing so hard like regular crayons. a small paint brush and some water added more possibilities.

Beautiful set

These have a beautiful pearl sheen. I didn’t know crayola made such good quality art supplies. They are beautiful right when you first put down on the paper. You can also use water with them to blend. Glad I got these.

Not enough pigment

The pros are these are easy to use and keep your fingers clean. The cons are the pigment isn't dense enough. If you wanted to use them as pearlescent accents on your art, they'll be great but used on their own they are very pale. I would really like to see Crayola make this product in solid colors that are more pigment dense and vibrant. That would be AMAZING.

Son una maravilla

Perfectos, primero debes colorear todo el dibujo incluso se puede poner un color sobre el otro, después con un pincel con agua queda todo perfecto. Los colores se mezclan bien, parece acuarela con brillo. Es bastante económico para todo lo que se puede hacer con ellos. Son excelentes

Pretty pearlescent - can be used for watercolour

I had to take off a star because there's no true silver or gold in the set. Also, even for $21 on sale, these are expensive. It comes in a pretty flat tin. Lovely, pastel pearlescent colours. A little goes a long way. Water soluble gel crayon.
