Easy install for a non-car person

I installed this wiring harness in a 2017 Nissan Murano Platinum. If you're not a car person or electrician, this wiring harness may look very daunting and intimidating at first. So many wires, of all colors, of all lengths, so many parts. I was scared I was going to cut the wrong cable or hook the wrong wire in the wrong place. But relax, it's not nearly as bad as it seems. There are several videos on YouTube about how to install this harness, they are well explained. For an experienced car person or electrician, this could be installed in 10-15 minutes. I took about 30 minutes, I took the time to read and follow one of the videos along. I took my time. The only thing you're cutting is two pieces of tape that hold a couple of connectors together. You tie the connectors back to the main wire with the zip ties provided in the harness kit. After installing the harness you need to test it. If you don't have a trailer (which I didn't), you may need to buy a tester, look for "CURT 58260 4-Pin Flat Trailer Wiring Towing Vehicle Socket Tester". You plug it in the harness after installing it, turn your ignition on (no need to turn on your car) and turn signals in both directions and press the brakes. Lights in the tester will light accordingly. This wiring harness was easy to install, cables look very well protected and the whole unit looks well built. Very happy with the purchase.

Too easy

Compact and easy to install. Took longer to disassemble the side truck area then was to install the wire harness. And to think places wanted to charge $150 for it plus $150-$250 for installation. $55 and 25 min and done. Now have to wait till the trailer comes and it actually works.

Works on 2019 Murano

Installation does require some removal and replacement of parts in the rear compartment. Nothing a reasonably skilled person would have trouble with. The unit worked initially quite well. Hasn't been used for two years. Tried to use it recently and it was doa.

Plug and Play!

Exactly as described, true plug and play. Follow the instructions and you will have it installed in a hour or less. It works perfectly. I opted to slit a rubber drain plug in the cars trunk area and run the trailer connector through it, zip tie it along the hitch, and have it out and ready because we tow a small trailer regularly. Don't forget to silicone around the slit in the drain plug where the wires pass through.

4 pin trailer wiring harness - Nissan Murano 2023

So happy I bought this and installed on my own. I saved myself a lot of money from the dealership - like a lot. Nissan would have charged me $500 minimum and it cost me under a $100 to do it myself.
