Beautifully Crafted bookends

Call me old fashioned but i have two bookshelves in my home where the books keep falling to the side and i wanted to get something to stop that from happened because it just annoys me. In initially i wanted a werewolf bookend but one that was not too over the top and the only one that i found was too over the top. so i saw this one and liked it right away and decided to go ahead with the purchase. Being a prime member the item arrived right away packaged in foam to keep it safe from damage. As soon as i took them out i knew i made a good decision. They are both well intricately crafted and are both very beautiful pieces of art. They are heavy enough to keep the books from falling over. one i have to twist sideways to face forward because i use them on different shelves on the same side and they are a pair designed to be uses opposite of each other. It doesn't matter though, even turned sideways it is a beautiful piece of art and still looks great and is heavy enough to keep the books from falling over.

Great addition to the book shelves

I was really pleased when I received these book-ends. They look great and are not light weight or cheaply made. I have another similar Knight designed set that I was hoping to complement and these do the trick.

Great gift - nice quality

The first set I ordered took quite a long time to receive. Luckily I opened them to inspect them before wrapping them (they were to be a gift). One of the knight's hands was missing. The packaging is very good and protects the product, Somehow it had to have been broken prior to packaging (it wasn't in the bag or box anywhere). The replacement set did come rather quickly so that was positive. The set are nice. They are heavy and sturdy and are worth the cost. I only think the detail should have/could have been better which would have earned it a 5. The one side has a sword that is removable - it seems to be a cheaper plastic which takes away from the quality a little. But knowing what I know now, I would still have made the purchase. The set was well received as a gift.

Great Looking, Unique Bookends

I love these book ends! They are heavy enough to hold up books and they look great. (Actually, they are better than I expected.) They come mostly assembled, one of the swords is not in the knight's hand in the package, so you have to slip it in its hole, but I assume that was to keep it from breaking off during shipping and was very easy to complete. I didn't have any trouble with the sword staying in its hole after I put it in the first time, the grove was tight enough to hold it in. They arrived well packaged too - in Styrofoam casing. As an added bonus, the bottoms have a soft cloth covering them to keep them from scratching the furniture. Overall well constructed and a unique set of bookends.

Inconsistant Quality

Just wanted to write this 3 star review so people are aware of the lack of quality control for this product. The first set I got was broken. The scabbard on one knight was broken and the factory painted over the break and packaged it this way. The other knight you couldn't install the sword in his hand since the hole wasn't drilled deep enough. Also my bookends were missing all the metallic paint. They were blue with a smudge of metallic paint barely visable. Since it was broken I returned them. My replacement bookends look 100% like the amazon picture. Beautifully painted just like the photo and nothing broken. It's sad the first one was shipped out with such a horrible paint job. Just like the first one though the sword will not fit in the knight's hand. The hole isn't drilled deep enough. I cut the peg shorter and used some musueum putty to get it to fit and stay in place. Overall it's a great sturdy bookend that will have no issue holding up heavy books. If you get one that doesn't look like the photo make sure you send it back for another that is properly painted.

This was delivered on a Sunday. It is exactly as pictured and looks very good. It is a nice accent to my shelf at work. It is heavy but not too heavy. It is shipped in protective styrofoam. The sword that is pointing up is packaged well. You have to put it in the Knights hand once you take everything out of the box. I think that was a smart packaging design as I read so many reviews for different bookends where the arms, legs, etc were received broken. This arrived intact without any issues.

Great gift for a Medieval literature enthusiast!

I like the weight and detail of the bookends. The figures seem very dramatic. They were a gift for my 13 year old grandson. They are a very good value for the money.

Great bookends

Bought for a Christmas Present . Heavy models. Sword from crouching knight is separate in the packaging so take care when unwrapping, I taped it onto the polystyrene for safety it does fit back onto the model. Everything else looks as advertised.

Great product let down by poor quality control

Whilst these are great bookends in terms of artistic design and weight. Unfortunately one of the bookends comes with a separate loose fitting sword, which doesn't fit in the hand tightly/properly. I managed to bodge it in, but for a brand new product at this price, its just not good enough. Reading other reviews, I'm not the only one to have this issue either.
