Absolutely Needed For Install
If you buy the gate, buy these. Easy to install and absolutely work as described.

Perfect, but pricey
The spacer does exactly what’s it’s designed to do. However the price is high compared to to price of the gate and the material. This kind of thing should be included in the original gate package, as most homes have some kind of baseboard/molding.

They work fine, but I don't like that the company nickels and dimes me for these cheap plastic parts that should be included with the original packaging seeing as how the vast majority of households have baseboard and therefore need this spacer.

Cheap plastic that doesn't line up right
First off don't most people have molding? Why wouldn't this be included in the gate itself? Secondly the holes don't line up well. You have to force it a bit to make it work. But these spacers will be the least of your problems if you buy the retractable gate. It's junk. VERY VERY difficult to install and even more difficult to use. Be sure to read the critical reviews on this one before you purchase. The manufacturer really needs to go back to the drawing board. It's junk.
