Great smaller seed tray for smaller birds!

This is a great addition to my back yard to add an extra affordable tray of seeds for smaller birds who have to fight to access the main larger bird feeder. It is sturdy and so easy to clean! You can also use it to place some fruit, although I have noticed that birds love the seeds better...

Great feeder!

This is the best feeder I’ve ever had or built. It’s easy to clean and fill. Plus it’s a tray feeder that keeps the snow and rain off the seeds. My only complaint is they should make a larger one adding 2-3 inches diameter at least.

Hawk feeder

I had to get this as a replacement after a hawk tried to feed on my birds.they got away but hawk got stuck and bent the rod.and cracked the plastic.

It is Good, but Small

I think the base is close to the dome which helps deter squirrels if the feeder is well placed. That closeness makes it a little challenging for birds I believe, but admittedly I could be wrong. I see the birds eating mostly on the ground, and not many are at the feeder. On a side note, I wish this feeder had a second attachment at the bottom so that I could add a feeder there (maybe a suet feeder).

Great for ground feeders

Was trying to attract cardinals and was successful. Unfortunately the fat doves sat in the middle of the feeder and ate all the food so I had to lower the opening. Stopped bird feeding for now after hearing that it makes it easier for Hawks to swoop down and kill the songbirds. Cannot handle that.

Attracts Finch and other small birds

The 10" dome feeder is great for finch seed. Keeps the seed dry and is easy to clean. Small birds went to it right away. Took away one star because no instructions included on how to raise/lower the dome.

Resistente

Se ve bien hecho y bastante resistente, el gancho que ya trae está muy práctico. Ya veré si funciona contra las hormigas porque ninguna otra cosa nos ha funcionado para alejarlas del bebedero. **Actualización: hoy encontré hormigas en el bebedero! Pudieron llegar a él aún con la trampa puesta y llena de agua, no hay ningún otro modo de subir, no comprendo cómo fué exactamente, pero me parece que el orificio donde viene insertado el gancho, tiene un espacio suficientemente amplio para que quepan las hormigas y bajen justo por enmedio sin tocar el agua.

Must have for Hummingbird feeders!

I decided to give this a try since my mom had an ant problem with almost every feeder she had. A couple of the feeders had a built in moat for water to prevent this but all of them didn't work since they were quite shallow and the water easily evaporated. The Droll Yankee ant moat works wonders! It is deep enough to provide water for at least a week without having to refill it and it has kept the ants away from the feeders! Bonus is the hummingbirds do once in a while drink and eat the dead fruit fly's that end up taking a swim in the water. Overall this is a must have for anyone that has an ant problem with there feeders!

Solid-Well Made Feeder

I already had a Droll feeder thus the second purchase. The reason for four stars is that the centre rod has been shortened and filling the feeder is a bit difficult as the lid cannot be raised high enough as it was in the older feeder. I love this feeder because it is so well-made and because the jays are unable to rob the other birds of their seed! I would recommend this feeder to anyone. The previous feeder is 15 years old and in perfect condition!
