They stick to things! It's like they were molded in a sourcerer's cauldron of magic!
Or by magic...I mean magetic. Either way...they are fun. My daughter loves them. They are big, to they aren't a choking hazzard. The magnets are securely locked into the back of each letter. So far after 2 months of daily use we've only had 1 magnet fall out of a letter, and that was after the letter was thrown against the refrigerator in a fun game I like to call "Let's see if we can make them stick from a distance!" (My 1 year old is pretty good at it, but I'm still the reigning champion. The round letters are the easiest to make stick when tossed. So I usually cheat and give the kid the square letters. It's ruthless, but she's got to learn the ways of the world eventually.) All in all, it's a good toy. I saw the smaller, more common letters in stores but they were tiny by comparison and practically spelled out "We are going to end up under things and down the air conditioner vents!" UPDATE AFTER 4 YEARS These are now being enjoyed by my second child. They have lasted VERY well over a 4 year span. I have been very impressed with these. Despite regular use by kids over multiple years, they still look new. No broken letters, no lost magnets.

Great product - Wish it had 52
Saw an idea for a magnetic wall board on Pinterest, since our fridge is not magnetic. I bought these for my 18-month old son, knowing he has years to grow into them. The magnets all came in good condition, none of them arrived loose like another reviewer's experience. I went through each one and shook it to make sure the magnets would not fall out while my son was playing with them, since the magnets themselves would be a choking hazard. The letters are BIG, as advertised. There are 42 letters, which at first glance I thought was 2 per letter. But some quick math reveals that 26*2 is 52, not 42. There are 16 doubles and 10 singles. Would be nice for simplicity's sake if every letter just had 2 (can see getting this question from kids later). One nice thing is that the "singles" are all yellow and fuscia, so from a parent's pespective who is trying to take inventory of stray letters, that is useful. Final note - on the "From the Manufacturer" blurb below, it appears they are describing stamps, not these letters. If someone from the manufacturer could change this, or Amazon let them know...

Not impressed. Sone of the magnets aren't strong enough to hold letter up in fridge.
Was disappointed with strength of the magnets on some of the letters

Magnets are a bit underpowered (and underglued), but otherwise very nice
Some of the magnets are too weak, and the letters don't sit quite straight on the refrigerator (or sometimes just go sliding down a few inches). Also had a few with magnets falling out when we first opened them, which could be dangerous if resident kiddos are inclined to put things in their mouths. They're large letters, which is good, as I didn't want them going into mouths, and my boys love them... five or ten minutes of occupied little ones equals five or ten minutes of reclaiming sanity! Other than the mentioned concerns these are very nice, but those are a couple of things to be aware of as you compare with other products.

Fantastic set of jumbo letters
I wish I'd found these before special ordering a fancy set of wood letters for kitchen decor. I would simply have painted these. They're big and blocky and look and feel great to manipulate. The magnets seem plenty strong and secure, but even if they weren't, I think it would be easy to glue a couple of extras into the channels on the back. I bought two sets of 42 and got (I think) identical sets (see photo): 4 of each common letter and 2 of each uncommon letter (84 in all). At less than $20, you might as well get two sets and be sure you can spell anything. They feel like they'll last for decades. They're right at 2.5 inches (63mm) and fill the palm nicely. M and W are much wider than the others and the I is much narrower, as it should be.

Well-made and sturdy
I did quite a bit of research before buying these letter magnets. When I was growing up, I had some of the standard dollar-store type letter magnets. I remember the magnet parts regularly falling out, and having such weak magnetism that the letters would tip upside on their own. I was glad to find that technology has improved. The Educational Insights brand contains at least two large magnets per letter, placed at the ends for maximum stability. They have held up for many months, despite regular dropping. The plastic is thick and sturdy. They are labeled for age 3 and up, so keep that in mind, but I've felt comfortable having them available for my 1 1/2 year old daughter. The large size is great for gripping, and it makes the letterform easy to see and understand. If you are looking for alphabet magnets, these are definitely the ones to get.

Magnets fall out
Got these for my 10 month old because he loves playing with magnets. Unfortunately some of the small magnets on the back have fallen off making it a choking hazzard. I no longer let him play with them for now.

Overall good purchase
Love how big these magnets are. The size makes them great for kids who are still putting things in their mouth as at this size they aren’t a choking hazard. Only downfall to this is that the magnets at the back of the letters are exposed and the tiny pieces fall out which is a huge choking hazard! Would definitely give 5 stars if they found a way to prevent these tiny magnets from falling out, but product is still good, just make sure to watch little ones with them.

OK
Magnets fall off but not a big deal! My daughter wasn't interested in it but i think its a must in every house with children in it. The good thing about it is that its big enough that she can't put it in her mouth
