My original switch that came with my fan was not working correctly after 4 years, installed this replacement and now it works great

I feel more comfortable knowing that its always going to be there

This was purchased to go with a Harbor Breeze 72" Slinger ceiling fan purchased at Lowe's. Fanimation manufacturers the fan under the Harbor Breeze brand. I have a house that has rooms pre-wired with 2 switches, 1 operates the light & the other operates the fan. The fan that I bought came with a remote & the fan only works by the remote. I searched the internet & decided on this one because it installs on the wall within the light switch, that way, I don't have to worry about the remote that comes with the fan being misplaced. I can still use the one that came with the fan, but since the fan will NOT operate without the remote, I feel more comfortable knowing that its always going to be there. The 1st pic is of this remote & the second pic is of the one that came with my fan, both of which are made by Fanimation. I decided to mount the original fan remote (2nd pic) to the wall, but it can slide out of the holster & with kids, may become lost. I think they cost too much, but for the peace of mind it brings, I felt I had to have it. Also, it alleviates having 2 wall switches that no longer work. So, you could say, it's a necessary evil. I'm giving it 4 stars because: 1) It's pricey 2) I feel the built in wall remote should come standard with the fan since it WILL NOT operate without the remote & the one included with the fan can get lost. As far as the remote itself, I just got it last week. It was professionally installed with the fan so I have no complaints so far. It does what it says it will do & looks good. P.S. You WILL need to read the instructions for the remote to program it properly. WARNING: This is NOT one of the "Ol' Dad never reads the instructions" types of deals. He WILL read or it will NOT operate.

Did not work

This did it work for me. Could not figure out how to sync the remote to the switch.

Good but one flaw

I had a light switch with 2 switches that became 1 switch and 1 dead one after installing my fan that only works with a remote. This is much nicer than using the handheld remote (or mounting it to the wall). I'm not using the switch function. It is purely being used as an in-wall remote to keep it from getting lost. I'm disappointed that the remote doesn't draw power from the electric. It requires a battery, so I'll be taking the cover plate off whenever it runs out. This seems like such an obvious oversight.

Gets the job done

This switch works as described, but I was surprised that it required a battery when it was hard wired too. Regardless it works and don't have to worry about the remote magically disappearing.

If you have a fanimation ceiling fan then you need this switch. Easy to install and works along side your fan remote.

Must have for Slinger 72in Fan from Lowes.

Perfect for Fanimation fans. I got this to use on the 72in Slinger fan I bought at Lowes. I have two slinger fans and two of these wall controls. You have to program the remote to the fan which takes about 60 seconds. It's easy to change the code on the remote and have multiple fanimation fan around a the house. There is no code to change on the fan---just the remote. This makes it so much more convenient. You won't regret this wall control!
