Fabric Cutter
This fabric cutter is one of the best I’ve used. Very good for cutting long strips that tend to shift. Easy to replace rotary cutter blade when needed which isn’t often.

Fiskars Rotary Cutter and Ruler Combo is the only way to cut fabric!
Years ago I bought a Fiskars Rotary Cutter and Ruler Combo when I first started quilting and was really lousy at using a Rotary Cutter and Ruler to cut my fabric. Later I learned the secret to doing it successfully but I still used my Fiskars cutter so much that it finally broke and that took about 15 years. I'd heard that Fiskars had stopped making them and I was heartbroken. But whoever told me that was wrong because I found my favorite way to cut fabric on Amazon and bought it and I am back in business and loving it. When you use a regular ruler and rotary cutter you have to either walk around the mat to cut the fabric or if you don't have a small enough table you have to turn the mat or the fabric so you are cutting it the right way. One of the best things about the Fiskars Rotary Cutter is that you turn the cutter, not the fabric or mat. You never have to worry that you will goof up and have the cutter go off by itself and ruin your fabric because the cutter is built into the ruler and all you have to do is push down on the push handle over the cutter and slide it up the ruler and the cut is always perfect. The ruler never slides on the fabric because there is a some kind of rubberized or metallic strip underneath it that prevents this. This one has a carrying handle which I find very useful for hanging my ruler up so it doesn't get damaged. It has a standard 45 mm rotary blade that can be changed if you need to do it but since you are never whacking the blade into the ruler the chances of having to change the blade are pretty slim. I changed the blade on my old one once in all the years I used it and was horrified to find that the blade had been in it so long that it had rust on it! The ruler is longer than the the usual 24" one by a little more than 3 1/2 inches so you can position it on any mat easily. It is clear with black and white markings (not those hard to read yellow lines) and has every possible angle marked on it that you would ever use. It's 6 1/2 inches wide and the only drawback is that you can't cut anything smaller than 1 1/2 inches because the cutter gets in the way of cutting anything smaller than that. But that is the only drawback to using it. I brought my old one to one of my quilt guild sewing nights and one of my friends pretended she was going to steal it because it is so easy to use. Well, now she can buy one for herself! If you hate using a rotary cutter because you have never learned the secret to using it correctly then this is the product for you. By the way the secret is that you must start with your fingers on the ruler down by where you start the cutting (being careful that your fingers are not anywhere near the blade) and then walk your fingers up the ruler as you cut. It is easy if you watch someone do it, but why bother when you can use this wonderful cutter!

This is probably good for cutting wrapping paper
I bought this to cut straight edges on wallpaper during a home improvement project. I used vinyl wallpaper and had to go over it several times with the tool to get it to cut the wallpaper. Additionally, I used it on a subfloor which dulled the blade. Therefore, I recommend that someone using this ruler needs to place the blade between two surfaces with a gap in the middle for the blade (kind of like how the people cut fabric at a craft store). Otherwise, you won't get the full effect of this tool. Additionally, I expected that I would be able to thread the wallpaper through the cutter (like a paper cutter in a school library, etc.) but I couldn't do that. I instead had to place it on top of where I wanted to make the cut; that was annoying because the wallpaper often curled under itself when I tried to cut it. So I'd say it's not good for cutting high-quality wallpaper but it may be good for other projects. Overall, I think I paid too much for this tool.

What a handy tool
I love this cutter. We just moved in to a new house and this tool has been invaluable. I’ve used it to cut drawer liner for the multiple cabinets and drawers in my kitchen and 3 bathrooms. So much easier than scissors! And the size allows me to assure that I’m getting a straight edge! We even used this to help hang curtains because the measuring part is clear! We were able to measure straight lines up from the inner windows to near the ceiling, and measure exact inches away from that point. Even my husband was impressed. Word of caution-do use a cutting board or cardboard underneath to avoid cuts into a countertop or other surface.

Handle may come unglued
I was disappointed the glue on the handle didn't hold after using it only four or five times. My husband glued it and I'm going to try it again. I guess the handle doesn't support the weight of the 26" ruler. Might need to think of a way to reinforce it.

I enjoy the convenience.
It works really well, but I do think it's overpriced for what it is, convenient but expensive . A ruler and rotary cutter is cheaper and works very good.

Great, Easy to use and Versatile
Very well built product at a reasonable price. I mostly use it on card stock and it glide through it with out a problem. The blade holder has a bit of a wiggle that can lead to a wavy cut (about a 1/16") but as soon as you apply a bit of outward pressure it rides right against the aluminum bar and it's perfectly straight. The blade cover has a magnet that makes blade changes much easier as the blade comes with the cover. Most importantly you can use most 45mm blades (straight, skip tooth, wave & pinking)... You are no longer stuck buying expensive, poor quality proprietary blades!

Fantastic cutter
I use it to cut thick 3mm cardstock. After just a few passes, it cuts like dream. No drag, no shred. I love this thing. I love how safe I feel when using it. No worries about my knife jumping the straight edge and taking some thumb flesh clean off anymore (ask me how I know.) It's very lightweight but strong. Worth every penny!
