Easy to setup, accurate, becomes part of daily routine
Pros: - Quality materials used to for scale - Does not move around on tile floors - Easy to setup and keeps a record of your weight in the Garmin app/web portal - Scale display shows you your weight, if you went up/down from previous weigh-in and how much the difference. It also shows you other measurements, and your local weather and goals set in the app - Display easy to read Cons: - Data shown on screen after measurement goes by a bit too fast for me to digest (like weather) before it moves to next screen - Cost (very expensive, even compared to other smart scales), although having it transmit the data to the Garmin portal/universe makes it easier to pay for this convenience) - Wished it had rechargeable battery

Great Scale- Works with all my other Garmin Devices
Like the functionality of the product overall. Do not like the touch-on feature. The touch-in feature does not work all the time.

Seems to forget who I am
While it's nice that the scale integrates with my Garmin Connect app and it seems to do a good job with measuring weight and fat/muscle levels, I have two complaints that make it really annoying. First, and most annoying: it seems to forget who I am. It constantly decides that, rather than logging my weigh in under my user code, it should log it as a guest. Sometimes I can tap it to switch it to my code. Sometimes my code just doesn't show up at all. Second, the battery life isn't great. I would want 6 months at least but it lasts maybe half that. This is an expensive product that ought to not have the first issue at all. 3 stars and I'm feeling generous with that.

Works as expected after an initial glitch on install
Love the new machine, I had an issue with it after the initial setup (it would not connect to my wi-fi reliably). I reset the box and did another setup and now it works as it should.

Pricy but Excellent
I'm a long time Garmin bike computer user so I wanted a scale that is fully compatible with Garmin Connect. This scale is a bit expensive comparted to other wireless connected models, but it works very well and the data integration is perfect. My wife also connect with MyFitnessPal and the Garmin Connect interface seems to handle this well also. I have had no issues with the scale turning on (as noted in some reviews). I step on the scale and within 1-2 seconds it recognizes me and gives me data.

Unreliable and fiddly.
I purchased 3 of these scales, 2 for my own use and 1 as a gift for my girlfriend. I've been using them for over a month as I rehabilitate from an ACL replacement. I do not have large bathrooms and so I typically store the scale on edge in a safe place in the bathrooms as it is pretty large compared to others I've owned. This works great except that the scale reads incorrectly after it has been placed on the floor. Even if it is woken up and left to sit for awhile (it'll be busy with an hour glass symbol communicating over the network) it will sometimes read 2-4 lbs heavier than it should. I've had to weigh myself sometimes 3 or 4 times over the course of an hour to finally get it to read correctly, although usually my technique of setting it down, waking it up, and coming back five minutes later gets it to tare correctly. It's ridiculous this scale can't tare it's own weight or whatever consistently and quickly. If it can't do that, it should remember it's own weight or calibration or whatever and have a mode you can manually put it in to recalibrate. I know it's not just a dud scale as all 3 of the scales have the exact same behavior. It's just a major time waster to get it to take a weight for the day and then go delete the bogus weights from your Garmin Connect account. I'm an engineer. Also I look at the data and it's also pretty off. My bone mass, muscle mass, etc. do not fluctuate anywhere near as much as the scale says as I gain and lose weight. So basically those values are of questionable use day to day or week to week. They are probably only helpful for managing very large changes (more than the 5 lbs I fluctuate over) so I pretty much just ignore those measurements. They imply they are accurate to like the tenth of a percentage point but in fact it is more like to the nearest couple of percentage points which never change for me. In theory this scale will at least weigh you correctly and automatically plug it into Garmin Connect. In practice what I find is that it takes way longer than just plugging the weight in manually like I used to do. I wish I hadn't spent like $600 purchasing 3 of these scales for Christmas, but it works well enough that I'm not going to go through the hassle of sending them back. If you are on the fence, not recommended.

Tap function did not work properly at the beginning
Hi, I love Garmin products. But in order to switch on these scales one needs to hit them, not tap!! Update: may be the scales were cold, after street, or I just got used, but the tap function works fine.

Another gorgeous, impressive Garmin product.
I'm a Garmin fan, just to be up front about that. My family switched to Garmin for our fitness tracking a few years ago and have never looked back - Garmin products are incredible. But I wasn't excited about dropping $250 on a smart scale, I couldn't imagine it would be that much better than our current $$$ smart scale to justify the price. Oh, I was so wrong. I absolutely love this scale. Not only is the aesthetic design modern, clean and stunning - a lot of thought and effort went into the underlying programming to provide precise and functional features. The S2 tracks a wide variety of metrics and it does so with incredible accuracy. The first day we had it, we marvelled at how fast it was to set up. Then we played around to see if it would read the tiniest changes in weight and hydration - and it did. There's a huge selection of customizable screens that appear on the scale display, and even if a particular metric isn't shown on the display, you can still access it via the Garmin Connect app. The scale fits seamlessly into the Garmin Connect environment - it tracks numerous trends for each and every user - and automatically ports relevant information to popular calorie-tracking and other health & fitness apps. We've been using our Garmin scale for about a month now, and we keep discovering discrete features, all surprisingly thoughtful inclusions to our Garmin environment. At one point, we did encounter a minor issue, so we contacted Garmin customer service - and wow, the speed of the reply and how they went above and beyond to help was just amazing. I can't say enough about this scale, and I really can't say enough about Garmin. They've consistently impressed me with every product I've bought and every interaction I've had with the company. Absolutely worth every penny, the Garmin Index S2 is leagues above any competitors' scales. Wow.

No regrets perfect scale
I use this once a week for marathon training. It tracks water and bone density very well and extra for me it's the muscle! My spouse actually loves it too and was easy to program. 10/10

Works as it should. But the double tap is annoying
Scale works well. Pricey however but thats life. The only grief if turning it on. Seems you really gotta tap it awake. Either hitting it with your foot once or, more recently, talling twice with your foot. Like "hey, wake up". After that it reads fast and syncs immediatly, unlike fitbits scale.

It's good
I am enjoying this scale but what I don't like is if your not part of garmin connect then don't bother because you can't use it.

Beautiful and Useful
Been wanting to get one of these for a couple of years. The weight measurement seems in range of my previous scale, but the fact that the data gets trended and fed into my Garmin Connect App, makes using the information a breeze. Highly recommended.
