Best can opener ever made!!

I've had a lot of name brand can openers and had them fail quickly... and I don't use that many canned goods. But this can opener is fabulous. Easy to use. Leaves a clean smooth edge. Brilliant design! The only can opener I will ever own. I bought one for my daughter, daughter-in- law, 24 year old grandson and will be sending one to my 28 year old grandson.

does it job

I bought this can opener so I could open the bottom of pop top cans, thus being able to reuse for a craft project. The small cans with very rounded bottoms could not be opened as these types open the can form the side instead of the top. I open the tops in hope that my project will still work. As for the opener- it definitely takes a little learning curve to use verse traditional openers but once you do a few times you'll have it. The edges are indeed smooth and holding the opener was a breeze and didn't hurt my hands at all.

Simple and straightforward

This has the potential to be the best can opener I have bought. I have tried Electric and manual types. Electric ones seem to wear out, gears grind or break, motors burn out. Other manual ones with exposed gears seem to wear out very quickly and become useless after a couple months. This unit having the gears internally make it seem that this one could last. Very easy to use. Leaves edge that is not sharp. Best part, you can use lid to cover remainder of what is left in the can. Highly recommend this if you want a can opener that will last.

Literally best I ever owned

Don't know about others but we have not had the best of luck with any can opener over the past 20 yrs or so. Fortunately for us, someone has invented THE BEST can opener I can ever recall owning. Solid is an understatement as I have used it with multiple #10 cans with ZERO PROBLEMS. Takes up half the space, still hasn't rusted, and just keeps trucking on. Love it so much that I am buying another one not even needing it,but don't want to be without as we have lost quite a few openers over the years as well. Lol, just never really cared because of how bad they were.

Works perfectly

Our last can opener was rusted and didn’t work at all. Even when it did work, I’ve found the top-cut can openers can be difficult to turn. This one is so smooth and easy you can’t even tell it’s cutting the can, until you pull the lid off. There are no sharp edges and the lid fits neatly on the can to store leftovers. We love this can opener. It is also an appealing, simple design that looks good.

So easy you don't know its working

I had heard about this can opener from a friend of mine. Honestly, did not really expect much. As was using it, I did not even know it was doing anything... just did not feel like it was working... and then the lid came off... huh? very clean, very easy to use, I am pretty impressed with this, much better than the original double blade types that I have used that wear out the gears. I had thought about an electric opener before getting this, I will stick with this type of opener.

Smooth in every way

Once you get it locked in it works so smoothly you may feel like it isn't working. It takes a minute to accept this isn't going to be a chore. No razor edges no sudden release. Great product. Be aware it does not come in a box so you should order it with other things if you want it to be inside of one.

love how easy it is to use. have bad hands regular ones hurt useing but love this one husband can waite to use. im on blood thinner from heart opertion was alwayes scared of old kind cutting me but this one wont cut you. will buy for hurrican supply box again. love it. price great got fast

It's actually really good!

I was sick of having our can openers breaking, they are always made so cheaply no matter what brand or price I swear they all come from the same assembly line... I reluctantly gave this can opener a try after watching a few videos on how they worked and it's surprised me to be honest. Tension wise it takes a bit more muscle to turn vs. a typical opener but it really does cleanly take off the top of the can by separating the seam, there's no blade only compression so the can opener never touches your food, which means it doesn't get filthy and also doesn't contaminate the food with a blade. We haven't had any trouble yet opening various can sizes, though I could see it possibly failing if the lip of a can was badly dented, although at that point you might be better off not risking food poisoning lol.

It takes off the entire lid without any sharp edges

It works great and is easy to get started. It takes off the entire lid and there is no edge you can cut yourself on, which I really appreciate because if there's a way to cut a finger, I will cut a finger every time. It's compact and neat and I'm very pleased with it.

Do not buy! Lifetime Warranty is a scam!

This can opener did as promised for all of 12 months and cut well and without issue. After a year the mechanism failed, the 'blade' rusted and Good Cook **promising a Lifetime Warranty** when asked if they would replace said that they only honour the guarantee in the US. It clearly states "Lifetime Warranty" but don't be fooled, GoodCook will not honour this. Do not buy!

Wish I switched sooner!

Amazing opener! We have been using a traditional manual can opener and it broke recently. I wanted a new one that was safe when not in use and didn't produce sharp edges. This can opener is it! It's easy to use (after getting the hang of it) and the lids are not sharp. I wish I bought this sooner and now all I want to do is have canned items so I can use this opener
