To sum it up QUIT looking and hit buy now!!!!! You will not regret it!!!!!
I'm sorry this will only be as short as they make me be but, I guarantee it will be SWEET!! This part I will make short I had a back injury and only was able to keep up the front yard. The back yard went horribley wrong after 3 months I have grass so thick it would make Fabio look bald. So in 3 months it was 1 - 3 feet depending on the area if the yard. I knew the only way I was going to conquer this beast was with a weed eater. I go on Amazon and the search begins with dozens to choose from and I do not want to spend a lot of money on a necessity duh I would rather spend the big bucks on stuff I don't really need!! Lol I am scrolling through each one noticing with the ones 60 and under corded of course because they are cheapest and reliable. I am noticing that all of the seem to be made for someone 4' or shorter and with back issues already I was not looking to bend over for 6 hours!! Then on top of that I had my choices of 3 - 4 amp I mean I'm not trying to power one of those kid cars I am trying to cut some scary grass that was out of control!! Then I come across this Greenworks weed eater and I look it up and it is on top 5 best corded weed eaters on the market I believe it was 3rd on the list so I looked up the top 2 and was not impressed. I go back to Amazon and check it out again 1. It's long and no bending over 2. This bad boy has a 10 amp powering it 3. It has a detachable head and I can buy other attachments to do other jobs 4. It has a 4 year warranty and 5. Most important it's only 55.00!!!!!! I who priced this monster?!?!?!? I see all kinds of junk on the web for outrageous prices and they are all crap and here we have the weed eater to make all other weed eaters bow at it's feet and it's priced like a Wal-Mart POS that you bring home and take back the next day because it was as lousy as you knew it would be but, you just couldn't resist how cheap it was!!!! HaHa!! Well anyway so I go to the reviews and the majority are very good but, of course there are those that when you read them had some legitimate complaints and then I start looking at the dates and they are all over 2017 or older. I'm thinking to myself Greenworks had to have read the gripes took notice and fixed them all. Right? Because all manufacturers realize the customers using the product know best and want to make it the best ever!! Then I wake up and realize this is a 5' weed eater, 10 amp, 4 year warranty under 60.00 bucks and come out of my fantasy and reality slaps me in my face saying "we have been here done this and it is always to good to be true" so I hit buy now!!!! So of course because Amazon is the baddest MF on Earth I got it the next day being a prime member (best money I have ever spent) and it arrived in the morning on Sunday so I got it out and put it together and went outside to check it out. I was leaving out of town for work that day and would be gone for a week but, I wanted to try it before I left. I went out back and starting cutting I was very impressed but, did not like the line it came with. I fortunately paid attention to the reviews and caught on others did not like it either so I had ordered the line that Amazon said most people bought when buying this weed eater. Problem was it was not coming until Thursday because it was not being shipped from Amazon and no big deal because I am out of town for a week. Friday comes and I get home late evening so visit with the family and then off to bed as I want to be up early and beat the sun I live in Texas and although it's September it's still getting to 100 and over. Well I get up at 5 have coffee and mill around until first light and I am out the door. I got the new line in the mail on Thursday but, I figured why not use what it came with first. Well that lasted all of about thirty minutes when by that time I had already had to remove the spool 3 times to get the line out so I said forget this and went to get the new line. I will add the very few and minor issues at the end so I get the new line and get it installed and I am off again. It is working beautifully shredding the grass with precision and perfection. I am going at it hard and realize I only have one line out of the double line it has so off with the spool and back at it and then one line again spool off and back at it then one line so I'm like c'mon man!! I take the spool off and examine it only to realize I have loaded one side backwards so every time I feed more line one side comes out whole the other side goes in!!!!! Now everything corrected I get after it again I am able to put in 2 hours before we have to leave and get some errands done. Fast forward to 5:30pm and I am geared up and back at it and this time I am able to put in 2 and 1/2 hours. I finally realized to take pictures and added them the pictures are take before I finished as I was able to get a lot more done but, it for dark so no pics of what I was able to accomplish in a 4 1/2 hour time span I will add those and the finished ones if I am able to. I have to say I am extremely satisfied with this product and will recommend it to anyone who will listen to me tell this story!!!!! Now the gripes which are meaningless in comparison to the products overall performance. 1. The instructions are horrible they tell you nothing so I will tell you now the small metal rod it comes with is what you use to take the head off to fix the line or use a different attachment 2. They do not show you how to separate the spool so to separate the spool and get to the line take a flat head screwdriver and push in on one of the 2 tabs located on either side of each other 3. I wish the padding on the shoulder strap was padded more because after awhile it the strap starts to dig in pretty good. That's it nothing else I can complain about it works very, very, very well!! GREAT JOB GREENWORKS for making a product that you can proudly stand behind because they actually listened to all those gripes and came back with a product that is freaking top shelf and worth much more than what they are asking for it so shhhhh don't tell them that!!

When it comes to power tools, the Chinese (designed) ones cannot keep up with American ones
Summary: Greenworks brand was founded in the USA in 2009 (but this tool is made in China). My go to power tool brand is Milwaukee, M12 and M18 Fuel, so I'll be making some comparison there. For Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE), my go to brand is Ego 56V. Also Vine reviewed the other Greenworks tools below. Adding three tools which I purchased to this review: Hammer Drill (tool ONLY), charger (dual-port), 13" string trimmer. Observations: Right off the bat, Greenworks is not quite as good as Milwaukee in my opinion. GW does have a 80V line, which is very competitive and comparable to the Ego 56V line. I have been a diehard Milwaukee fan, so I ordered this to evaluate the Greenworks 24V offering. Overall, I am impressed with the overall fit & finish. Both Milwaukee and Greenworks are head and shoulders over the Chinese lithium offerings, especially when it comes to raw power. Some of the higher power (amperage) draw tools offer both a 4.0AH and 2.0AH offering; if that is true, then I would spend the money for the larger battery as it costs less when bought in the combo sets (e.g. SDS drill, 1/2" impact, angle grinder, etc.). The heat gun is another that really requires the 4.0AH battery. Observations (NEW ADDS): 1) The hammer drill has an overall 3.8 star rating, so I'll be doing additional testing to test/check the hammer drill function. In initial testing, I can turn the clutch setting to the lower 1/3 settings, and hold and force the clutch to engage; so possible that the clutch is disengaging too soon. 2) The dual-port charger I bought specifically, and instead of the single port charger because of the higher charging power. If you charge a single 4.0AH, it is pretty quick (about an hour), and if you put two batteries on there, then the time will double (half the power). Overall, the slower you charge any battery, the better off (and safer) it generally is. Lithium also should be stored at 30-50% for best longevity. 3) Decided to add the 13" trimmer because I wanted a lighter trimmer than my 15" Ego 56V, and this 13" GW 24V fits the task nicely. Good for quick touch ups, and when going up/down steep hills. This trimmer does need the 4.0AH vs. the 2.0AH for serious trimming sessions. The variable trigger works well to preserve battery life, and control the amount being cut. Recommendations: These power tools really make economic sense when you can get multiple tools with the same battery. When I first got into power tools, I did months of research, and ended up going with Milwaukee. However, the Greenworks 24V line would be more than sufficient for the average homeowner's project needs, especially given the wide range of available tools. Pros: Extensive family of tools (individual pros/cons/conclusion below). Cons: Less popular than Milwaukee (individual pros/cons/conclusion below). Conclusion: Overall, I rate most of the 24V GW line at 5-stars (but there are a few exceptions listed below) Recommending it, especially if you're adding to an existing Greenworks 24 volt collection. Powerful corded trimmer that rivals some gas engines but without the pollution or noise.
This product has a lot of mixed reviews. Either people love it or hate it. I love it. I wanted a powerful weed trimmer but didn't want a gas one or want to pay a huge amount of money for a high end battery version. I ripped through a bramble patch with ease and its taken down lots of vegetation without bogging down. It is fairly well balanced and comes with a shoulder strap for longer uses. Complaints from other reviews Poor string head or hard to change the string - Its a little tricky the first try to get the coordination of the fingers down but that part is on me. The instructions were accurate and if followed will allow the changing of string with little downtime. Bulky and heavy - It has a 10A motor which comes with a weight cost but its not anything different than what a gas would be like be Trigger is hard to hold - it isn't the lightest trigger pressure but I didn't find it difficult to hold and do prefer that it is the way so it doesn't accidentally fire up

The Mother of All Weed Whackers
This 10-amp string trimmer has the same power as the average AC lawn mower. It doesn't just cut through tall lawn weeds - it shreds some of them like a food processor! So don't even think about using this without safety glasses with side coverage, or goggles. About a minute into trying it out, I nicked the vinyl down spout of the gutters ever so lightly, and it cut a hole in it the size of my fist! The directions warn, "Keep all bystanders 15m away." They're not kidding! I have steep banks with grass and weeds that grow faster than the rest of the lawn. For that area, this machine is a lot faster than a lawn mower. I don't have time to fool around with a 4-amp string trimmer - I just want to get the job done and move on. This 10-amp trimmer has the most AC power that I could find online. Black & Decker goes as high as 7.5 amps. The YouTube demos convinced me, as well as my experience with the 13-amp Greenworks lawn mower that I have. Uses a two-prong plug because of its double insulation. It's five feet nine inches long (my measurement) and weighs 9.9 lbs. (Greenworks measurement). I used a 10-amp cord (the minimum) and the cord didn't even get warm. Comes with a sturdy adjustable nylon strap. If you are right-handed, you can put it on your left shoulder (like a guitar, running diagonally to your right hip) or on your right shoulder (running diagonally to your left hip). Lots of power and quiet operation.

Power With Proportionate Weight and Size
As far as trimmers go this is easily on par or above with the power of any previous models I have used whether they were gas or electric powered. It can easily cut through anything I would need it to, but that being said: it's a weed trimmer. I'm not going to use it to cut through thick brambles and tree branches, I'm just using it to clean up the grass and weeds along my fence that the lawn mower can't reach. This is something I feel that I can safely assume is the average users plan. On the other hand for that purpose I find the weight and sheer length of the product unnecessary. I am 5'10 with a small build so you can take this as a 5 star review if you're 6'2, 240 pounds. It feels very clunky to maneuver especially for use on a steep incline. The shoulder strap is a great help with the weight distribution and moving the support handle closer to the motor will help as well. Also I found the trigger to require a good amount of pressure to keep down and was a bit of a pain over a long session. In short, if you are a taller, larger build these issues won't bother you. Or if you have a relatively small property like a small suburban grass patch in front of your yard then you'll be fine. However if all you're cutting is a small patch of grass you would do just as fine with a substantially less powerful and easily maneuverable model instead.

Powerfull but Dissapointing reliability and service.
This is not a light weight trimmer and with the motor at the handle quite a bit of vibration. Not something I would want to use for long periods but I knew this when I bought it. I wanted the power to tackle large areas and chew through rough weeds. Happy with my purchase. Edit: I only used this trimmer a few times before it stopped working. I contacted Greenworks as it was under warrantee and they don't fix the items they have a replacement policy. Unfortunately they informed me they did not have any of these trimmers in stock and likely would not until next year. They did offer me a 24V cordless that was not even close to being an acceptable replacement. After I rejected the offer they offered me a 40V replacement that was closer to this trimmers stats but still no where near the performance the 10A corded delivers. I complained a few times but the only options they gave me for the warrantee was to wait for a direct replacement to be stocked or take one of the 24v or 40v options. I honestly just wanted this trimmer to be replaced as I am not interested in a cordless. If they offered their 80V it would have at least been closer to the power of the corded and cutting path but this was not an option they would entertain. I ended up Buying a new trimmer from another manufacturer and I will not invest into greenworks products again.
