Great for camping, but kind of messy

I got this to include in my camp kitchen. I love that you can flip the lid and it stores in my camp box easily with the shot glass/top inside. However - the seal is a pain to get seated correctly in the lid so that when you shake your drink it doesn't leak. It can be done, but most of the time it leaks some and I just have to deal with it. Wish the seal fit easier.

This "Jarware Wide Mouth Cocktail Shaker, Silver" is not actually a "cocktail shaker", it is a lid & a cap that converts a standard/typicl wide mouth mason jar into a cocktail shaker. You do need to supply your own mason jar, and the cap ring. But once you put this lid/cap and your mason jar together, you would have a very functional and neat cocktail shaker, you can even shake and drink out of your mason jar. This kit contains only 3 pieces, a cap, a strainer lid with a silicon seal. It is fairly simple and straight forward to put together, everything fits and seals perfectly; it is functional, and more importantly, it won't leak at all (even with the most rigorous shakes). The cost is ok, and the build quality and material is nice. I love the novice idea of converting the most unsuspecting mason jar into a fancy bar tool. One more great thing, this item is dishwasher safe, meaning that, I can just throw it into my dishwasher, and it will come up sparkling clean the next morning! This cocktail shaker is very easy to use and easy to hold. It is easy to clean and definitely leak proof. It would also be perfect as a gift. It is very sturdy and will definitely last long. I highly recommend.

works fine

just in case anyone was like me and got this thinking it was an entire shaker, it is not. it is just the lid. i think it works fine but need to use it again and pay attention more to really confirm. will update review if i find something less than ideal.
