I couldn't be more pleased with my choice
I am a 77-year-old male weighing 220 lbs. and 5’10”. I have osteo-arthritis and stenosis of the lower spine. I can stand for short periods of time and walk slowly for short distances with the use of a cane. I live independently and can manage most household chores. I have fallen a few times. I love walking. For the last several years I have rented wheelchairs to allow me more mobility when I travel or visit museums, street fairs, and neighborhood walking-tours, etc. My condition is degenerative, but I still want to do as much as i can for as long as I can. So, I decided to buy my own wheelchair. I found the options overwhelming and did many hours of online research. Eventually I found this chair which seemed to meet all my requirements for size, weight, appearance, durability, etc. and ordered it. Unpacking and set-up were a breeze. The only help I needed was to remove it from the box. This chair exceeded all my expectations. I ordered a seat cushion more to raise the height than for comfort, although the chair itself is high enough. I was also concerned about the width because my desk chair is a little wider. This chair turns out to be perfectly comfortable. I also ordered a bag for additional storage although it comes with a small bag. I was undecided about anti-tippers and have since them so I can feel more secure. While this chair was a little above my budget, I am glad I chose it, for its overall style, comfort, and weight and quality. I recommend this chair without reservation.

Beware - Cannot set brake while leg rests swung out
We need an ultra-lightweight wheelchair for my disabled mom. It certainly is - 6 pounds lighter than the old Invacare lightweight wheelchair. Now, a not-so-strong person can comfortably load it onto a car trunk. (We used to need two persons.) However, one awkward design of the Karman S-115 is that the leg rests while they are swung out to get closer to a car seat, for example, obstruct the movement of the hand brake. So one cannot set the brake while the leg rests are swung out. I did discover a way to circumvent this: by swinging the leg rests inward. (By the way, the owner's manual does not disclose that we can swing the leg rests inward.) I also encountered delivery problem. The original manufacturer box containing the wheelchair was so badly damaged that UPS would not deliver to my home. Thankfully, I was able to contact Karman customer service for confirmation on what I should expect inside the box. No parts were missing; instead I found an extra piece of metal bar that was not part of the wheelchair. Karman customer service was very helpful.

Some scary things to watch out for.
I like a lot of qualities about this chair. I've had it about a month. I'm an average height and weight 5'5", 130 lbs and am having a few serious concerns with the safety of this chair. 1) when I lean forward to move the footrests, it tips forward onto the foot rests, I actually fell out of it (hence my height and weight to give you an idea). 2) the front wheels will not easily go over a bump, so I get thrown forward, even as little as a 1" lip in cutout curbs. A brick sidewalk with a few holes, all dangerous. The companion pusher tries to push harder to make the front wheels go over the bump and it won't, only throwing me forward more. We then have to back over or they push on one of the bars on the back which only lifts one wheel, then they have to either lift the other wheel over or push on the other side bar. Thresholds are also an example of a problem where the front wheels will not just roll over. It's not only annoying over time but dangerous. I've looked for replacement wheels and don't find any for this model. I'm looking into a seatbelt but still will be a nuisance if we are out and about for a day with multiple bumps or thresholds to deal with.

It is light, even though it states 18" which it is I measured it, it feels snug
It is light, even though it states 18" which it is I measured it, it feels snug, 20" would be better if you are thinking 18" would be right for you, maybe as I loose weight 18" might be good. The leg rest have to be bolted together, they don't use the spring clip like most other companies (they do supply tools). the plastic feet rest feel cheap, and the edges are not rounded so if you use your calf's to lower them once they are up the edges will dig into your skin (wearing shorts of course), the ride is nice it moves very easily, the arm rests feel to me a little to far back and they do not seem to be adjustable. The strap for the back of you calf is nice but the legs can't be swung out of the way with it attached, even though the strap connect with Velcro it's just another thing that gets in the way, the pad for you butt and back Velcro on and is easy to remove, there is a small pouch on the back for the instruction and the tools which was a nice surprise it can even hold your keys. Some minor improvements from the company and this chair would be awesome....

A Bit Flimsy For Constant Use But Great For Occasional Use
Appearance-wise this is one beautiful wheelchair. The removable, washable cushions are a huge plus. One problem is in the rather flimsy plastic foot holders. They are all right unless you use them to push yourself up in the chair with a usable leg then they sound like they are going to fall off. The other problem is that the chair takes a quite a bit of effort to get moving if you're on a sidewalk or road. Works fine in stores and will stop fast by grabbing the roller bar when some other shopper doesn't see you and goes plowing into your side. (Welcome to the world of the invisible wheeled person.) The rose red color is beautiful and the paint job excellent. Folds easily and my husband is able to put it in the back of the truck without a problem. I would love to buy a rain cover for the chair for those times when it is raining and I can't stay at home but must have the chair put in the back of the truck. All in all, I'm not sure I'd spend another $600 on this chair for heavy duty use. It is fine for grocery shopping and general shopping but not for taking the animals out for walks or constant use.
