Good Bottle for Guineas

This is a nice bottle for Guinea pigs or other small rodents whom love to consume alot of water. It does leak alot and the holder that attaches to the cage is kinda flimsy my left side connector broke. After removing the water bottle for the 5th or so refill.

Good bottle.

I bought this bottle to replace one of the types that you opened the top to fill. Needless to say this bottle is 10 times better than the other, no more changing bedding every 2 or 3 days because my guinea pigs are floating away with the excess water spillage. The bracket leaves a little to be desired it isn't extremely sturdy and the bracket itself will not hold the bottle up, the metal tube needs to rest on something in order for the bottle not to slide out of the bracket. I found this out when I wanted to mount the bottle inside of the cage and not the outside. I got around this by super gluing a couple of thick plastic washer to the back side of the bottle, now it can't slide and the bracket holds it up. The bottle holds a good amount of water I am not sure it is really 32 ounces though. Between my two guinea pigs I would estimate that it would last more than a week before I "needed" to refill it. All in all it is a good bottle, the bottle itself is made of durable plastic and it really doesn't have issues with leaking or dripping.

Didn’t fit

Didn’t fit my habittrail cage. Difficult to put top on so that the nozzle will fit through cage opening. Disappointed.

The media could not be loaded. Very very disappointed. I have the bigger version for my Syrian hamster so I figured I’d order the small one for my dwarf hamster when his water bottle wasn’t working right. Guess I’ll keep the one he has on the cage now that doesnt leak, over this one that leaks badly. Probably will be returning it. Update: they shipped me a new one at no cost and I didn’t have to return the first one. This one currently isn’t leaking and is up inside my hamsters cage but I’ll be keeping an eye on it for any leaks the next couple days. Very happy that they sent me a new one.

Hamsterific...

Bought two of these for two hamsters. Works well, doesn't leak (if you have the top on tight), the o ring does occasionally come out of the top, so make sure thats in there tight. I always leave them to come to room temp after filing before putting in the cage - helps to stop leaks. Only problem I came across is one of my hamsters likes to climb this and would use it to aid in his escapes - so I had to take it away and revert to a round bottle that he can't climb. For the other (less houdini style) it works really well and sits neatly on the cage.

Terrible water bottle

Only a week or two of having it and the bottle leaks from every corner (even through duck tape) and leaks at spout non-stop! Junk!

Good idea, poor application

Good idea, poor application. I thought that it was good quality, but when I put the lid on it would not screw on the right way. with a flat back water bottle it can only be put on the cage one way. I only realized this when I tried to attach my water bottle on the cage. the nozzle was facing the wrong way and I could not get it to face the right way.

first one leaked

I bought this product as I have had problems with other makes dripping water and this one was recommended via Cavey websites. Quality of plastic is less than I would have expected at the cost and one out of two delivered did not seal at all, in fact significantly worse than the inferior product it was to replace. In fairness the supplier replced this quickly and without any fuss, however my experience has affected my overall confidence in the product.

It used to leak but after a few ideas, I used my own contraption (pipe cleaner) so it could lean back a bit; this way it does not leak.

I love these water bottles and was so excited when I saw they came in a size that made sense for my hamster. Unfortunately the entire cap was cracked around the nozzle and I didn't notice until my poor little furball was flooded out.
