18 months later ... I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars
I got these to replace a 30 year old pair of Justin boots. They were a size 10 and fit great. I ordered a size 11 XW in these. When they arrived, I immediately curled my nose at the appearance of the "leather". It just looked ... cheesy. When I went to put them on, I could barely get the right one on. It ended up bruising the top of my foot. "Extra Wide"? Seriously? I wedged a softball into the arch for a few hours and managed to stretch it a bit. The other thing I noticed having them on, was how uncomfortable the shaft was. I like to wear ankle socks with my boots and the shaft feels like cheap vinyl that does not breath AT ALL, which sucks for Florida. I also wish I had noticed the "cushion insole". These are boots, not sneakers. That and the synthetic/poly shaft should be enough to drive me away, but I just didn't read closely enough. The second time on the boot puller and the paper thin heel rands came right off. Based on how I feel about these so far, I'd say the actual worth is more in the sixty bucks range. I'm bummed about it. I'm gonna keep 'em anyway and see if they don't break in better. Next time, though, I'm not gonna be a cheapo and actually drop what you need to pay for a decent pair of boots that will last 20+ years, ~$250. I'm not expecting to get but maybe 2 years out of these things on the high end. UPDATE 18 months later ... I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars. I wear these all day 4 days a week with a 30 mile motorcycle commute. They grew on me. The leather on the arch DID stretch and they are quite comfortable now. The insole is holding up well, and I do appreciate the rubber sole, especially for riding. I'm still not crazy about the synthetic upper shaft, and a bit of the acrylic is flaking off, but by and large, they do seem to be holding up well.

Very pleased!
The boots are a great deal. The quality is excellent and the fit is good, plus they're sharp too! They did require a few days to break in, but I never met a boot that didn't! I really like the rubber sole and heel..I've had much pricier boots with leather soles and wooden heels that just didn't seem durable enough for daily wear. I did put rubber-like heel guards on as a preventive measure before wearing these. If you're looking for a good boot at a very reasonable price, you can stop right here! Update..I've had these 2 months now. Since then, I bought a boot from a different manufacturer with styling I really like and in brown which I needed. It also cost 50% more than the Laredos. Yes, it is worth more, with obviously nicer materials. Well, it is apparent that a bit more spent is well worth it. That said, the Laredos have completely conformed to my foot and they are so comfortable. Still look brand new after moderate wear. So, for an inexpensive boot, you're getting decent durability, looks, comfort and price. Seems like the quality of boots run in $50 increments..but the Laredos are a great buy if you're just looking for your basic boot. One final thought; some people don't like the idea of a synthetic shaft but that's not entirely true. The front half is leather..the back is synthetic. Update 2. After 6 months these boots have conformed to my feet completely and are supremely comfortable. They also show no signs of wear whatsoever.

Fits right
The only problem with them is the heal. It is very slick on a tile floor.

Affordable and Comortable
I wanted to make sure I had a chance to wear these before posting a full review. So I wore these as my only shoes in Vegas for a week on vacation. I didn't have any problems, and I walked a lot. Cons: - I bought the tan distressed. They are exactly the color of the Copper Kettle versions. I really had to check the stitching pattern to see that I got the right boot. I was expecting the color to show up equivalent to a typical Timberland boot, so I had to deduct a star for that. - The bottom part of the boot looks and feels like good material, but the top part with the pattern looks plastic-y to me. I haven't had any problems with it, but to some people this may look cheap. - The straps to pull the boots on are sort of...I don't know. That is probably too nitpicky, and shouldn't stop anyone from getting these boots. Pros: - Affordable when it comes to boots. I thought I was going to have to spend a couple hundred dollars. - Fit is great, and like others have said I didn't need any break-in time. I could wear these right out of the box. - The bottom part is pretty attractive and they look good with my jeans - The sole is oil and chemical resistant so it is solid and I feel pretty good about them (I will wear the heck out of a pair of boots) If someone were looking for boots, I would recommend these. I wasn't sure about buying boots online, but other than the color being off, this was a good experience.

Use these for working boots. They last about 3 or 4 months.
Use these for working boots. They last about 3 or 4 months. Not great, but not bad either.

As Sure As Advertised
For me, these boots rate a four for one reason, no arch support. That is one of the top things I look for in footwear. When you buy and wear anything on your feet which does not have arch support, I will darn tooting bet ya partner you going to have feet, ankle, and back problems on down the road. A substantial majority of folk feet I notice, show overpronation. It is when the feet roll inward when walking or running. Overpronation leads to feet, ankle, and subsequently, back problems. So, it is important to look for footwear which has arch support to help prevent against it. At the very least, wear support inserts in your footwear. Other than the one negative thing, when you buy these boots, you are going to get a product which is as sure as advertised.
