I was very hesitant to purchase this bedding set when I saw there were NO REVIEWS, but I took a chance on it because it really seemed to be everything I was looking for and I loved the design and price for the complete set. I basically looked for months for a gray and yellow floral comforter set that I could afford! I am not exactly disappointed with this product, I'm more... mildly satisfied. I believe I got what I paid for (like my title says) ....and I'm not the type to complain about quality when I am fully aware what true quality costs. So to make up for the lack of reviews, let me be as thorough as possible: - VALUE : Its about 90 bucks for an impressively complete set which ends up being a really great value! If you breakdown the price per piece I figure it would come out to around $50 for the comforter and matching shams, $25 for the bedsheets, fitted sheets and pillowcases $10 for the bedskirt, $5 for the decorative pillow. If you even attempted to buy those items separately you would easily have to double or even triple the price! In that regard you are getting a lot for your money. - COLOR : So you're probably wondering about the color, especially when yellow is involved. To me, there is nothing noticeably wrong with the shades of yellow found here. The yellow of the flowers on the comforter is more of a golden, dandelion yellow, not ugly or dark in any way. The yellow on the sheets is definitely lighter, like a pretty pastel yellow. There is also some yellow on the decorative pillow (just to be thorough), which is definitely golden, very pretty. The background of the decorative pillow is pure white. The grays found are all very light gray, true to the picture. The only surprise for me was the shade of darker gray that lines the flowers on the comforter, it is NOT dark gray but more of a dark taupe (gray with a tinge of brown).... still not ugly by any means. - SIZE : Fitted sheets true to size (I ordered the full/queen size). COMFORTER RUNS SMALL! I have a twin sized bed and this full-sized comforter hangs perfectly over the sides. I would definitely recommend ordering one size up if you want the look in the picture of it hanging nicely over the edges like that. I also read in reviews from other websites that the comforter did run small for this model... so I can confirm that. - MATERIAL: Yucky! Cheap! Thin! POLYESTER! Everything is 100% polyester unfortunately. This is certainly the downfall to this comforter set. Everything else is great. This would be my only complaint! So polyester is a synthetic non-breathable fabric that can be made to feel "soft enough" to the touch, but actually feels pretty terrible to be wrapped up in while sleeping. I've had bad experiences with cheaply made polyester clothes and believe it or not, it actually made me feel physically ill! It made me sweat much more and caused a headache. I would recommend having this comforter for "show" and sleeping with some other blanket made of a natural fiber. Oh, and the bedskirt is soooo thin! I didn't have a problem with the white lining tearing or anything, I tried to be careful. The yellow sheets are not exactly rough, but feel like a low thread count, of course. - DESIGN : When I say design I am referring to the printed floral design on the comforter and the contemporary print on the sheets. Flowers are beautiful and the print on the pillow and sheets are very nice, no surprises there! But I did find 2 things I was NOT expecting. #1 The pretty shaded almost 2-tone effect in the advertised photo, how the gray looks like it goes from lighter to darker on the shams, yeah that doesn't exist. It's my fault for even expecting that, I should have known it was just the shadowing in the picture. #2 There is an irregular linear pattern that goes vertically on the entire front of the comforter (not the back). I would describe this pattern as a brush stroke that imitates a textured-look. So the light gray is NOT SOLID. Its made up of 2 tones of light gray. The only weird thing about it, that I do not like, is the brush strokes go ON TOP OF the flowers. So you get these kind of streaks of light gray over all the pretty flowers... *sigh* it's a small disappointment. My advise, buy this if you are looking for a quick fix, a pretty looking facade, if you don't wanna spend time picking out different pieces, if you have low expectations, especially if you are not planning to sleep with the sheets or comforter. Ideal for a guest room. For that price though, you really can't go wrong. I am satisfied because I'm a student on a tight budget and just needed something that "looked" nice. I cannot give more than 3 stars, I think that's fair. My regret? I wish I would have spent my $90 on a comforter set that came with LESS ITEMS but had a better quality! Like a soft duvet with a matching bedskirt, buy the comforter at IKEA, and some simple cotton bedsheets separately (I did end up buying some matching sheets at Marshall's). I bought this right after Christmas, but I saw that prices for all kinds of bedding got EVEN BETTER a month later! (you know, that time of the year where all stores need to liquidate their Christmas inventory) Prices on Wayfair dropped from around 90 to 50, and Bed Bath and Beyond too! Should've waited! Oh well! I hope you feel more secure and like an informed shopper! I unfortunately dove into this one blind! But you don't have to! [UPDATE] I just noticed the retail price is supposedly $175.00? That is just awful! Why anyone would pay that price is beyond me! It is definitely not worth it! You can tell this is some low-quality, cheapest-materials-possible, literally "Made in China" product that probably cost the company, I dunno.... $10 to make? LOL.... Also, I made a mistake with my review, I ordered the queen size, which (the comforter) fit well on my twin bed. So order at least one size up!
