Very light and not super solid but nice look and finish

Great fit

Fits both my 8" gyuto and 7" santoku very well, and doesn't knock around or scratch the finish on the knives. My only gripe is that the little plastic knob that holds the saya in place takes a fair amount of wiggling to get out, even with several months of almost daily use, but you can easily push it out from the other side with a chopstick or wiggle a butter knife underneath the edge of the knob.

Fits perfectly

I bought this saya for my Takada no Hamono which is shorter than 180mm due to how it’s measured. I was worried there was going to be a lot of play, however it fits snug as it if was designed for it. I ended up trying out a true 180mm and it also fit perfectly. So if you have a Sakai 180mm or a true 180mm I think this is a perfect product.

Too small for my knife, but...

Im pretty suprised, i have pants from this company so i expected better quality. To be fair my knife is a little too big for it so i never really got to try it out, i kinda just threw it in a drawtill i have a knife that'll fit it. Seems cheaply made, the little plug that you take in and out is very tightly fit so i could hear the wood cracking as i tried to take it in and out. Its pretty, it looks cool, if you got a knife at home and you want something cool to put it in then sure, but as someone who works in a kitchen i wont be taking it in my bag.

Didn’t work with my knife

It was the right size for the size my knife was, but it didn’t fit!

Not a perfect fit for all sizes, but does the job.

I like the basic design. Comes with two quality pins to lock in the knife. Not a perfect fit, but I'm sure the wood wont harm the edges too much. Purchase asap if you don't have a sheath!

Muy corto para 8"

El producto tiene buen acabado y se ve fuerte y resistente pero, fue hecho para cuchillos de menos de 8" ya que cuando utiliza un cuchillo de 8" la parte posterior de la hoja de acero queda fuera de el cover y puedes contarte con facilidad.

Nice but did not fit the knife I bought it for

I bought this when referred to it while on the page of the Mercer knife I bought. However, the sheath is not properly sized for that item. I use it on a different knife - but it does not fit perfectly. It's better than nothing but did not work for the purpose I intended.

This Saya looks very nice and well built.

This Saya looks very nice and well built. My 8" chef Miyabi fits. Only challenge I see is the saya is long...my 9" knife fits. My 8" knife has about 1" play. Still better than what I had.
