Great Shorts, Run a Bit Large

I have an 8 year old son that typically wears a size 8 - or medium in most brands. These are too baggy for him to wear now without a belt. There aren't any adjustable tabs in the waist, so be advised. That being said, these shorts are fantastic quality. The fabric is durable and will definitely wick moisture. There is an elastic portion of the waistband in back, but the front sits nice and flat (button and zipper closure). There are 2 pockets in the back and 4 total up front. There are fantastic little details all over these shorts, such as the drainage hole in one pocket , and the mesh lining in the 2 top side pockets. Overall, these shorts really are well-made. They are pricey, however. I'll definitely be putting these aside until my son can pack on a bit more weight.

Lightweight, quick-dry shorts for outdoor recreation

These pants are ideal for hot summer days where you might get wet from rain or jumping in a lake. However, the lack of all-around elastic and a drawstring means it could accidentally get pulled down. -Medium size is much too big for my 9yo. It is only elastic on half the waistband and there is no drawstring so it can't accommodate a wide range of waist sizes. But you could wear a belt with it if you wanted. -The fabric is a lightweight, thin polyester similar to a swim trunk. -Fabric quality is pretty good although it is very thin. The thinness helps it dry very quickly but makes it less durable. It's not a tough or protective pant so you probably don't want to hike through brush or sit on abrasive rocks as it may rip easily. -I like the all synthetic material which dries quickly and cleans easily. -Lots of pockets which is nice. -It is a somewhat short pant inseam so you don't get much coverage below mid-thigh.

Mossy Oak's needs a kid sizing chart for their children's clothing

Mossy Oak's does not have a sizing chart for their children's clothes. I sometimes can go to other listings by Mossy Oak and try to find a sizing chart... but none of their children's clothing listings on Amazon have a sizing chart. This made it very difficult for me to determine what size to get. I ended up ordering a medium size for my skinny 10 year old. The shorts are so wide they are almost falling off him. There are no adjustable elastics or anything in this pair of shorts. Therefore he'd need to wear a belt or something since these are that big. The length and everything seem right for this pair of shorts. Though my son is skinny, normal sized shorts don't fall off of him the way these do. Since the length is right but the waist is not, I would say the size Medium is better suited for a 10-12 year old husky kid. My kid loves them

I got these for my son who likes his shorts to be on the "shorter" side for sports, etc. He loves these and they fit like a glove. They are nice and lightweight and the quality is pretty decent and held up well in a few washes so far. Overall, for the price I would say these are a great buy. Nice fishing shorts

Nice fishing shorts for my son nice and light weight little on the bigger size for him but that’s alright he can grow into them. Goes great with his mossy oak shirts, and they dry pretty fast if they get wet awesome shorts for any kids into outdoors and fishing

Runs Large

These are nice shorts! The shorts are currently too big for my 7 year old who has a small waist. He wears a size small in boys or a size 7, but these smalls are too big. These do not have an adjustable waist, but do have an elastic band. The elastic band is stretchable, so your child can grow with these shorts. The length isn't long like most boy shorts, so these shorts may not be best for really tall, thin boys. The material feels like a dri-fit, which dries fast. Having material like this, we've learned that fish blood will come out of the clothes. My son really likes having the open pockets.

Great quality

Very good quality and I like that they can be used as dressier shorts or as outdoor activity shorts. Fits true to size and very comfy.
