THE absolute best!
This product is amazing. As a big Nalgene water bottle fan, a friend of mine showed me theirs and I needed one for myself. This cover keeps my beverages ice cold ALL day long, it's truly awesome. With two different carrying handles you can carry it however it suits you best. It's easy to zip and unzip. I am always telling people about this insulated product, LOL.

Decent insulation, poor craftsmenship
The bottle does a pretty decent job of insulating your nalgene, but the strap in the back is only held on by a single row of stitching, and tore off under moderate pressure...apparently this is a common problem.

Keeps my water from freezing
I spend every weekend hiking up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This keeps my water from freezing. I've been on -27° hikes, it made it through and I still had water to drink. Still a good idea to store the bottle upside down.

Ok, not great, it works
I got the Nalgene blue neoprene sleeve at the same time as this and will keep them both, but neither is stellar in my opinion. This one is thinner and less insulated than I expected but seems to do a decent job. The lexan/tritan quart bottles can be a little sluggish to insert or remove depending on bottle sweat or humidity but the poly ones slip easier. Having the cap covered is nice...however, this lid forces you to scrunch up the plastic loop in order to close/zip the lid shut. There are some molded dimples in the "hard" case lid but they don't seem to do anything to stop that need to bend the loop. But it works. Definitely do not expect this to be a substitute for a thermos/vacuum bottle but it'll keep liquids warm for a little while and generally keep them from freezing even in subfreezing temps (generally). I won't be using the hang loop or handle, really, but with a 2.5lb load (full bottle) I wouldn't expect them to hold up to a ton of stress or abrasion. The handle on this is a little stretchy, btw. The old OR bottle sleeves were much better and I hope they bring those back soon - they were well worth their expensive price even if they were a bit bulky.

Good case for Nalgene bottle.
It is on the pricey side, don’t think I would pay almost $20 again. I might opt for a hydro-flask and a sock. While I did leave it in my car overnight, and the water did freeze; it did what it was supposed to do when hiking in sub freezing weather. Make sure to put your Nalgene in it upside down, so the cap doesn’t freeze shut. For warm days it will def be good to keep and extra liter of water cool. Comes with a carabiner, which is great and the zipper closer makes access easy and the inside well insulated. Just wish there were more colors.

Keeps water from freezing on Mt Washington, NH!
Very simple construction that can withstand the winter elements. I attached the carrier to the hip belt of my backpacking backpack. There is a long enough strap to slide the hip belt through. There's also a smaller loop which I attached a carabiner through and secured that to my pack. I did three hikes in temps below 20 degrees. On one day the wind chill made it feel much much colder. My water did not freeze. My hiking companion left her Nalgene out in the open and the water partially froze, enough that she couldn't get any out to drink. When you place the Nalgene bottle inside you do have to have the lid lined up so the carrier lid can close correctly otherwise it's a bit difficult zipping it up. But the zip has a nice big toggle to grab making it easier with gloves on. The true test will come when I climb Mt. Washington (January 14th, 2018). I'll have an update after the climb. 2/7/2018- Update- Well, this insulated carrier definitely kept my water from freezing during my Mt. Washington climb. Our guides had us put hot water in our Nalgenes to start. I know hot water is not recommended for a Nalgene but I figured today wouldn't hurt. The weather was 13 degrees, sunny with no wind what so ever. Our guides never really experienced a day without wind so we were definitely spoiled. I had two Nalgenes with me. I used the neoprene cover on one and drank from that one first. The insulated carrier stayed at the bottom of the bag which is where they recommended placing it. They also recommended stashing it upside down so the water would not freeze around the mouth piece. After 5.5 hours of climbing I decided to turn around at Lion Head. We took the summer route down which took 4.5 hours. When we got to the bottom I pulled the insulated bottle out. The water was warm! Amazing. My guide was also amazed and said he needed something like it because his water often froze. So, as a thank you for helping me get down the mountain safely I gave him this one. I'm about to order another. No pictures to share. Just memories!

Keeps water ice-cold for a long time on hot days
I bought this to replace one of two that we own that we seem to have lost. Luckily the one that was lost was the one I'd had to stitch the small carry strap (not the larger handle) on which gave way. Another reviewer said they ordered a second one here and it was not the same as their first, nor as well made. I am pretty sure I ordered our first two when Nalgene first introduced them and directly from them, and the one I ordered here in July 2019 is exactly the same and fine. I load the bottles with ice to the top, then pour in water. This means you'll often still have some ice or at least cool water at the end of a 90 degree day spent outdoors, or on the road, etc., depending on how often you open and drink from it. I found that two of these (with bottles inside) will fit perfectly inside American Tourister's smallest size backpack with no room to spare--as if it were made for them--so I frequently pack them together in one to add an extra layer of insulation. Of course it would be even better if the backpack were also lined with the same silver foil insulation, but at least it keeps the two cold items together in a closed space and it means that the 2 can be easily carried hands-free on a hike or at outdoor festivals, etc. I don't trust hanging it by the carry strap to carry, as the seam had let go on one of ours as I mentioned, and this was just from picking it up by the strap, not hanging the bottle for any length of time from it.

Pricey for the performance.
Only does just okay for keeping cold cold. Maybe with the reflective material inside it will do better keeping hot things hot. I will find out this winter.

Keeps my water cold for at least 8/9 hours.
It's light weight and fit's snugly around my bottle. Although it doesn't allow the new sports cap with built-in straw. Old style sports cap no problem. Work's with all 1 ltr bottles. And the slightly smaller steel tapered bottle.

Kept water cool on a test
Nalgene 1 litre flask is a snug fit in it, and the plastic loop on the cap is in the way when you do the zip up, you have to squash the loop in. With the cover fitted, I filled the flask with water and put it in the fridge overnight. I removed it from the fridge in the morning and left it on a kitchen worktop. I tried the water over 4 hours later, and it was still lightly chilled. So it does its job for me, but it is highly overpriced in my opinion.

It works, not the best
This is my 2nd after the first one was returned when it started to fall apart being used only 4 times. I initially didn't want to get the same but couldn't find the OD one in time. Used in Alps, does OK down to -10/-15C. Water it's very cold but doesn't freeze. Used at higher altitude, below -20 water it starts to freeze. One morning I woke up and the boiling water I put in the previous evening was solid frozen in the tent inside the sleeve. It will be replaced for next expedition

Nalgene insulated cover
I have just received a nalgene insulated cover with the zip on lid initially I'm very pleased I haven't tried it yet but it looks very good and it was a good price from tamarack outdoors

Does the job
Fits the Nalgene bottle snugly, is easy to carry and open (with a wide carrying strap and a glove-friendly zip-pull) and, most importantly, keeps the contents liquid. I used this at 7,000m on Aconcagua, and the water was still water when I opened the bottle after a full day in my pack.
