Hard Target
I rather not have to carry this with me when I ride my e-bike. It's heavy and bulky and the mount is garbage. I have to carry it in my backpack or basket. But it gives me confidence that my bike will probably still be there when I get back. Recommended.

Good U Lock.
This is a very good product. While not the most secure of its kind, it appears solid and well built. The included cable has proved useful, especially for free-standing lockups during quick stops. Mounting clip does not impress and will not be used, but the lock lays nicely on the rear rack, secured by velcro straps. Overall a good buy and works well to protect my ebike. Comes with extra keys.

Great lock, two small issues.
I really like this lock. It feels really beefy and is big enough to get around my bike frame and the bike rack. Also, like the cable so I can loop through my wheel. When I first got the lock, it seemed to big to mount anywhere on my bike, so I was kind of bummed, but then I read the instructions, and saw that it could be mounted on the seat stem. I was skeptical at first, thinking it would interfere with my pedaling, but after I installed it, I didn't even notice it. So that's a plus! I've only had two issues. (1) Sometimes it's difficult to get the base locked onto the 'U'. I did lube the lock with white lithium lube so I know its not jamming as the key turns easily. So I'll live with it. (2) The lock clip that attached to the my bike came unscrewed when I was mountain biking. I know it was tightened when I installed, but I guess all the bouncing down the mountain caused the screw to back out and the lock to fall off. I have since reattached and put some loc-tite on the threads. Hopefully this will hold.

Deterrent Above All
So far, this lock has done its job. I live in an area with moderate bike-crime and commute to an area with almost none. My garage is secure, but if I'm shopping near home, I want a big scary lock that'll make my bike seem significantly less attractive to a thief than the flimsy cable-locked bike next to me. This is that lock. At the end of the day, a bike thief with the right tools can break any lock and definitely any cable, unless you're willing to invest in and slug around professional grade steel chains. I'm not. I just want my bike to look less easy to steal and this lock does the trick. I have a strangely shaped bike, so it doesn't quite get around either of my tires and the frame, so I boot each tire to the frame with mini-u-locks, run the cable from this between them and onto this u, and secure this u to whatever I'm tying up to. There's an approximately 4" diameter water pipe at work that I lock to, and the round part of this lock fits around it no problem. The construction seems very secure and the insurance scheme, while a royal pain to fill out and send in, seems legitimate. My bike is my exclusive means of transportation, so I'm willing to make the investment to keep it secure!

Can't beat it at that price point
Great quality lock for the price. After doing A LOT of research I basically decided that at the end of the day, all locks are deterrents. Any lock will be cut if a thief has power tools. The reason I decided to not get something equivalent like the Kryptonite 2 series lock is the whole shared key issue. Everyone has kryptonite locks so if there is a key issue, chances are, you are going to run into someone with the same lock key at some point. Even with that said, I decided to pair this lock with a kryptonite integrated chain lock and I am very happy with this decision. The Onguard bulldog is A LOT beefier than it looks like in pics and feels very good. The mount works very well and the cable is quite thick. So thick in fact that i have trouble fishing the cable into my saddle. The reason i gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because you do have to be careful when locking the barrel as it doesn't latch on one side so theres nothing holding it in place until you actually lock it. I would recommend this to anyone but be patient with the locking mechanism and you should be fine!

Tough. Lousy as a Snow Shovel, But......
Does it's job. Like the wide throat vs. the more narrow ones on the market. I own two of them and I think this is the one that comes with the nifty key with the built-in light. The only complaint. There is a plastic sleeve around the "U". It is not attached to the metal. Sometimes it will slide to one side and get low enough that the lock is difficult to lock up. Until I realized this was the problem, I got very frustrated with this. Last week, I got stuck in a bank of snow up in the mountains, no shovel and we used this, among other things, as a pick/shovel to dig us out. I'm sure OnGuard didn't intend that use, but just to let you know in a pinch this thing can do all sorts of stuff!

feel VERY secure with this lock!
yes the lock is a little on the heavy side, but I feel 99% safe with this lock! (hardly anything in life is 100%, if a thief wants a bike, I don't think any lock with stock them) I love how it has the cable to be able to lock up the entire bike. it does have the velcro strap so you can make sure the cable wont bounce around while riding. REASON FOR 4 STARS NOT 5 1. the bike mount it working so far, but I'm not sure how much abuse it can take, but as of right now I'm pleased with it. 2. The yellow caps on the main bar come off making it a little difficult to work with at times, nothing a little glue didn't help but besides that I highly recommend this lock!

Doesn't fit to frame with bike bottle and key with light a little flimsy
I brought this lock because of its high security, I have a road bike with quick release wheels so the long wire is great, the shackle lock is good and strong. Key with light was flimsy only two minutes before the light stopped working but I use bike during the day so light not really needed. I must agree with the first review as lock is good and strong but can't have a bottle if wanting to connect it to the frame and that is why it as lost a star in my eyes, I am lucky I have a pannier bag so lock fits easy in there but would have problems if wanting to fit it to frame, otherwise the lock and wire is a good one. But be aware if you want to fit it to the bike and keep a bottle on it isn't possible and key with light is a bit flimsy otherwise I can recommend this.

Not suitable for mounting to ladies bike
The lock seems good but when I tried to follow the instructions for the mount the suggestions for where to fit it were completely unapplicable to my ladies bike. The lock in the diagrams make it look half the size it really is, and I can't see any way of fixing it where it won't get in the way. My bike is NOT small for a women's bike, so probably just another case of something being designed for men with no thought for the rest of us.

Good lock
I bought this for my son so he could lock up his bike for when he rides to school. The lock is heavier than I thought and is too big to attach to his bike but he carries it in his rucksack instead which he says is no problem. It came with 5 keys, one which has a light on it. It seems to be secure and certainly looks as though it would deter a thief from trying to break it. The extra chain cord is a bonus to put through the front wheels to secure it more.

Good quality and great price.
Bought this for my granddaughter , already have one myself so knew the quality was good the price is very good , the additional steel cable is good for joining two bikes together and go through the lock at the same time (we always use main lock to secure to a permanent fixture )
