Pointing dog training
Everything was good except the stiffness. The rope is not stiff enough to let them run with. It gets caught on things. I will still use this on the whoah post, but this is not a good field lead. Everything else about this lead is to notch.

Good buy
Good medium weight long line. If your dog is fast, may not be a bad idea to wear one or two leacher gloves to avoid a rope burn. Just long enough for training pointer/retriever as a pup...any longer and it'd probably be getting tangled all the time.

Good cord, snap the weak link
Great for training but the snap won't take a tied dog. I tied my Lab briefly with it and he lunged against it and snapped the bolt. Now, it's not meant as a tie out. But folks may do as I did and use it temporarily to tie a dog. I've replaced the broken snap swivel with a carbiner snap so not an overly large issue. But unnecessary if they'd use stronger hardware. Wouldn't want the hardware much larger for swimming and upland work, however, so this may be a tradeoff.

If your dog struggles with recall, this is a game changer.
I haven't written many Amazon reviews, but this product deserves a good one. My almost-2 year old Shepherd Husky absolutely loves dog parks and beaches, but has almost no recall drive. She won't take treats (yes, even chicken, cheese, hot dogs, and everything else 'pros' have said always works), and ignores whistles and squeakers. We've had days at the dog park of 1 hour of fun and 3 hours of trying to catch her. I've had to call my wife to help with triangulation. This cord is heavy enough that it lays hard on the ground. She figured out how to get it off her feet in 10 minutes. Other dogs see the bright color and avoid it easily. It's firm enough that it doesn't wrap around logs or water fountains or picnic benches. And it's clearly already modified her behavior from "we're here to play, you and me" to "Ok, I'm not in charge of this game and I'm ok with that." Honestly, this has solved the only problem I was having with my dog. I have had large breeds before, and never needed anything like this for recall training. But if any of the above sounds like your experience with your dog, buy this cord and you'll be glad you did. Cheers to good dogs everywhere!

Perfect swimming rope!
I use this strictly for water use so can’t comment on anything else. I used to use a Flexi leash for swimming, but that was horrendous getting wrapped around my dog’s neck, and it’s not really supposed to get wet. This is perfect—I clip it on the back of his harness and he can swim and splash to his heart’s content. Even if it gets tangled it doesn’t hinder him, and he has learned how to simply lift up his legs to go over it. I do wish it had a loop at the end, but I simply knotted it in a couple places so that it’s easier to hold. It is easily one of the best purchases I have made for my dog.

Nice weight
This is a nice little line. It’s light weigh, floats and is easy to manage. Only fault is the brass clip is not up to par. It’s difficult to open and feels cheap. I think it will hold once it’s on, but I’d be worried if I had a big dog that pulled hard. Will probably end up cutting it off and adding my own.

Works well
I’ve been using this check cord for a while on training sessions with my dog. It’s took a breathing through brush. I have a few knots tied on it at 10 and 20 feet so I have a stop where I can grab. Even with tight knots you can get them out if they happen by accident. I’d buy this again.

A great leash but
If you have a high energy dog, then you may want to put a few knots in for grip…be aware of rope burn when you are not quite ready, but your dog was ready 10 minutes ago. That said, it is a great leash for the water, it floats well, and does not tangle easily. Also, it does not seem to hang on the the sand/dirt too much when wet. We have used it on all of our camping trips this summer for water play.

Use it with my GSD
I bought this so when I can let my GSD have a bit more room to run when I get my kids from school. He loves the extra length. I had to tie a bit at the end to make a handle. Don't be a fool like me and grab part way down the leash to try and get some minor rope burn on your hand when you dog is running lol. Otherwise great product. Specially given I can't find leashes longer then 6ft locally.

Snap quality is poor
I’ve had this for four days now and have used it to do tracks and water work. I’ve also used it in the forest and my dog did not get tangled. It does what it describes it does. The snap however is poor quality. Today sand got into it and I couldn’t take the cord off my dog’s collar. At home I was able to eventually remove the collar however the snap is now sticking and will likely have to be replaced. I expected better quality for this price. Update: I had to replace the snap because it kept on jamming. Very poor design and quality. If you want an expensive rope, but this product.

Poor Clasp, Great Rope
We use this rope daily with our labrador retriever in and around water, mud and sand. The clasp consistently seizes when exposed to sand and can be a real problem when trying to remove it. Others have noted the same issue on their reviews. I would steer clear of this product until they use a more suitable clasp that is designed for outdoor environments.

Good lead, although keep it away from sand!
We love this dog lead however we bought to allow our dog some freedom at the local beach while at the same time keeping her on lead. The lead itself is great because it floats, it’s bright orange so very visible, and never tangles. The connection however does not hold up to sand/beaches. It gets a couple grains in there and won’t open. So you have to wrestle with it and try to wash the sand out, or fiddle around with it until it opens again. That’s the only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars. Other than that, good lead.
