I work in industrial maintenance and this set as good as any other set I’ve used. If you are not using these everyday they will last a lifetime.

Solid professional feel and performance
I've been using a universal snap ring plier for about 20 years and finally got fed up with trying to make the replaceable tips mount at the angle I needed..usually ending in no joy. After researching and comparing the offerings from multiple manufacturers I settled on the OTC set. I can't say I jumped for joy the first time I used them because I didn't have the other brands to compare to, but I will say this. The two I've used out of the set so far took a bite on the latch holes in the rings with authority. No fumbling, no slipping, no poor scissor designed framing to bite the meaty part of your hand IF they slipped....which they didn't, just a good solid feeling positive latching tool. It's always a bit of a crap-shoot when buying without trying, but in this case at least it paid off for me. A fine addition to my professional toolbox.

I am a professional differential rebuilder, and snap ring challenges have always been a problem for me. I never seemed to have just the right plier for the size, style, or hole size required in my job. This OTC set is a life saver for me, and works as well as my friends snap on set he paid four times more for. My set is made in the U.S.A. which surprised the #@&% out of me. I have heard that OTC makes this same set for another very brand name company. I have encountered some very tenacious snap rings, and upon choosing the correct plier for the application, I have not been disappointed yet. I also own a set of their 16" stingers which work great on the industrial sized snappers.

Great Tools
OTC is generally a pretty decent brand in my opinion. They even make some stuff for other companies such as Matco (OTC Genysis is bought and sold by Matco). These snap ring pliers are great. I originally got them for the price, but after using them a dozen or so times they work well and are build sturdy. Only thing I need to note is that mine came in a light grey case with "sky blue" rubber handle grips rather than the dark blue in the picture, but that doesn't matter to me as the tool works great for a professional shop. -ASE Master Technician

Fought for a long time with a multi tip unit
Finally sprung for a set of these after years of hating my multi tip combo internal / external units. Haven't used them much so far but the few times I have they have worked very well it's a nice change to grab a set that fit's well, works well, is a good price (local price for these where I live is over double what I paid here. I researched these quite a bit before buying. Happy happy.
