Very nice, thick material, flattering, merino joggers with pockets

After a horse riding trip in Iceland a few years ago I learned the magic of merino - lightweight, warm, doesn't hold sweat or odor and it washes well and dries quickly (unlike cashmere). I was sold. I have an assortment of merino leggings and tops. And I wanted joggers. A lot of the womens joggers are nice, but lightweight and a bit see through which I didn't want. I had begun to look at the men's joggers as they seemed to be thicker and then I saw the Pendletons. I was undecided about buying these because there were no reviews and it is always hard to see visual information about jet black pants in the product photos. The joggers arrived yesterday. I put them on to see if they fit. I have yet to take them off. They ARE that comfortable, and pleasantly warm. Pendleton's own listing has them as '100% merino' and 'Merino with nylon added for excellent shape retention' - so sloppy! These joggers are 85% merino with 15% nylon. And they hold their shape nicely. In the product photos the charcoal pants have a stripe down them and I could not see if the black also had a solid band. They do not have a stripe - just solid knitted black pants, with a black tie (and the elastic waist is very giving and comfortable), and cuffed ankles. I purchased the medium because it was on sale. They do run large, and I could easily have taken a small (I am usually a medium) but the great thing about merino is you can shrink it a bit if needs be. I was surprised to see the inseam listing, at 28", is correct as they seem a little longer. I have worn them with both slides and boots so far and they work great with both. The rise is 14" and it makes the pants very flattering from the front. They do not have a gusseted crotch. My 6 x 3 inch phone can lie sideways in the bottom of the pocket fairly securely. Upright it will fall out as the side of the pocket is only 3". Be careful with keys. Dog hair does latch on but that's the penance of having pets. I am well pleased with them, and wholeheartedly recommend them. Next time they are on sale I'll probably get them in the charcoal too.
