Works just fine.

Was not sure if I should have purchased this tool after reading the other reviews. But after using this tool on a test using heat shrink tubing on a uninsulated butt connector (awg 22-18) the results were acceptable (see photo) and the batt. charge is still green. I put tool's end almost in contact with the tubing while heat shrinking the tubing. I don't believe this tool would get hot enough to melt the solder for butt connectors that have solder in them.

Great irrigation tool

This is a great handy irrigation tool working with tubing and barbed connectors. I can heat the tubing easily to insert barbed fittings: 1/4" and 1/2". I've used for 3 hours without issue. Super easy to recharge the built-in battery. I had to deal with Customer Service on one and that went pretty well.

Great for medical use

It works great for my needs. I manage a bunch of Field Engieneers for a medical device company. Our device is in the operating room. This means that we can't have any open flames. We also may not have easy access to power to plug in a normal heat gun. We also have to work in tight spaces. This tool works for what we need. When any repairs or maintenance to internals and we need to reapply shrink tubing, this is great. Can it be hotter? Yes. Can the shield be better formed? Yes. Could it work better without the shield? Yes. BUT, does it let me work in the OR without having to lug equipment outside? Heck yah...

Ok, works, but not great

It'll shrink heat shrink, but it's not as fast as a butane (mini) torch. The heat reflector doesn't really help much. Having said that, it's handy when you don't have access to AC power for a handheld heat gun, but a mini butane torch works better.

Not well made, not well-fitting

Only half of the nozzles fit my Black and Decker heat gun. The other half are way too loose, and fall off if I try to use them. No way to tighten them, either. Fortunately, the nozzle I needed fits, but overall disappointed.

Doesn’t Get Hot

I tried to use this “Heat Gun” to seal heat shrinks on irrigation wiring. After a full nights charge it was only able to get hot enough to put a slight indentation in the heat shrinks and didn’t melt them at all. I could hold my finger in front of it about 4cm away from tip and it didn’t even warm it up. Completely Useless.

Works well for my needs.

It does the same job as a torch without overheating the shrink tube but takes a bit more time. It needs 45 sec to reach operational temperature. Worked well on very small up to *straw* size, I did not go any bigger for the moment. I am using it for small jobs, connectors and finishing larger jobs when needed.

Not powerful AND perfect

If you are looking for power, this is NOT the heat gun for you. Corded guns are far more powerful. I purchased this work making candles and it is perfect. It heats the wax slowly so you can work with it. For this purpose the gun is perfect. Finally, battery loses charge quickly, but not a huge problem.
