Great Water Storage Tank
I bought this because of the water storage tank and the low price. I did not count on it coming in so many small pieces to put together and the instructions were not too helpful. I was almost ready to return it when it appeared as though the waterfall front did not fit. I had to basically wedge it together while holding it in place. Once it worked I decided to keep it mainly because of the great water storage tank that eliminates the need of constantly refilling a water bowl.

The instructions to assemble are almost worthless. They are hard to follow, but you can pretty much figure it out. I love the fact that its silent!!! My cat absolutely loves it. I like the clear water holder because you can see when you need to refill unlike others I've seen where you have to always take stuff apart to check. When I received the box I almost returned it due to the fact that it was all beat up and taped together. After I opened it I could tell it was not used so I assembled it. I think its cheaply made and will over time need replaced, but it does perform excellently. I tried other fountains that made splashes in the dish and my cat hated them and would not use them. This does not splash at all. It has a wall it runs down kind of like a waterfall, but does not splash. It a has a very wide and low open drinking area. I would buy it again even though I feel its overpriced for flimsy plastic parts. I paid $20 less on amazon than in the local pet store for the same identical item! Give it a try, you have a return window on it.

Great for our cat with cerebellar hypoplasia
We have a cat with cerebellar hypoplasia which is a disease that affects his coordination. Therefore it was a hassle choosing fountains for he hit his head a lot in the edges. The spacious water dispenser allows him to drink without hurting himself. Greatly recommended.

Not what I hoped for
This foundation is a huge pain in the hind end to clean! There is no easy way to do you. You must unplug it from the wall and take the whole contraption to the sink. I am talking cord attached to the motor inside and all. You cannot simply unplug it from the motor inside either. Also, the water stream is a lot slower (even on high) than expected. The slow speed puts out next to nothing. The dog loves drinking the water sprout, not so much in the bowl. I stopped using it and donated it to the thrift store.

Truly a great investment
I happen to own the world's fishiest dog. If you have a Maltese or know anybody with a Maltese then you know they are at the prissy is little dogs you can possibly own my little dog will not drink water that is just standing still. I learned this when she was a very tiny puppy, she is now on most four years old. Originally I had a smaller version of this water fountain but unfortunately the motor went out on it after almost 4 years, so I really can't complain. We purchased the larger fountain in replace of the small one because now we have a bigger dog in the house also who drinks obviously more water. Refilling the water containers several times a day gets old quick so it's really nice to have a large capacity for the water fountain. So far we have not had any issues whatsoever, it's extremely easy to assemble, and to refill with water. My dogs absolutely love it and naturally as I stated before we like it because my dogs to proceed to drink out of standing water. I highly recommend these fountains to anyone, really in general, only because it really is better for the water to be filtered constantly which it does with these fountains. In fact this fountain has two filters where is the smaller fountain only had one. Hopefully it will last year's just like the other one did and I will definitively come back and buy another one. Truly a great investment. I have paid full price for this product. I have NOT been compensated in anyway for my review. Because Your Pets Deserve Clean Drinking Water Too!
I have been using this model pet water dispenser for years and while it does require maintenance it's the best option we have tried. I have one in my home, one on the patio and one in our RV. The only negative thing I have found after having used them for years is, if you don't stay on top of the weekly maintenance the charcoal return filter can get a little obstructed and when that happens the pump will move more water than can return back to the pump sump, when this happens the pump can actually drain the tank and cause the thing to overflow. I recommend setting the unit on a quality spill containment mat. I just pull and rinse the filter once a week and I have zero problems with it.

Dog Loves It!
My dog was afraid of other 'auto' waterers. He would actually walk on the other side of the room and watch the water dispenser as he went by. This one makes very little sound even though it is recycling the water to keep it aeriated. He loves this one because it is quiet, doesn't gurgle, etc. He drinks a LOT more water now than he ever did. I was dog sitting for a little over a week recently. When the little girl (Yorkie) got here, her urine was very yellow (almost orange). At the end of her stay, I noticed that her urine was almost clear, she was drinking that much more water.

Disapointed
I was under the impression that if I bought one of these water dispensers that they would keep the water fresher, and not stagnant, especially since it has a couple of filters, that I change monthly as the directions suggests. Not only does it not do the job, but the cream coloured one especially, will grow actual algae in the holding tank and in the bowl. I have to constantly clean algae out of it. I thought the constant flowing of water would eliminate this sort of issue, but it doesn't.

There's a lot of pieces to put together but the instructions are reasonably clear. Everything fit together easily except the small rubber washer for the cord placement. The threads on the water bottle itself were either threaded wrong or it was the flow cap itself that was a problem. I thought I'd have to send it back because it was so difficult to put those two together. I'm dreading trying to take the flow cap off. I took one star off my rating because of this. The water flow itself seems okay and it's not noisy. The design and grey colour are subtle so don't stand out as far as decorating impact. The cat I babysit doesn't seem to like using it as much as another brand we use . This brand is designed for base drinking like out of a bowl, the flow is too flat to drink from compared to other types that access the actual moving water. Another star off for this. I still recommend this product if you have cats that prefer to drink from a bowl-type source.

Its really cheaply made, its all plastic except the water plate. My two cats like it, especially white cat and its less water replacing. Since the air humidity is at 20-25 most days I had to change the water twice a day with regular stainless dog bowl. Its been two days and I haven't had to fill it.
