Awesome for determined or experienced food puzzle dogs!
It's amazing. My dog Jesse used to have one of these when she was a pup and she LOVED it. And absolute favorite toy. At some point it disappeared and I've finally gotten around to getting another one. She still loves it and so does Charlie, my new dog. So it gets 5 paws approval from the pups for fun. It is quite durable too. The previous one got left out in the sun a lot and still was in really good shape but Jesse isn't much of a chewer. Charlie however has a buzz saw mouth that can go through just about anything (Tennis balls take about 2 minutes to rip a hunk off of and he has destroyed a red KONG, albeit one that is too small for his size.) But the chuckle has held up to some serious power chewing sessions with nothing more than some scratches and dents. No holes, rips, or pieces missing. So five stars for durability. As far as the food dispensing goes it IS a bit tricky. It's slow to fill as you have to stick the kibbles through just a few at a time. There is no way to open the toy up for filling. But that means it's also a slow process to get t he kibble back out which is the point of the toy! So I'll call that one even. I just don't use that one as the main toy they get their MEAL out of. It's for snacks or a part of the meal. Since it can't be opened to clean it though I recommend only using dry kibble. I wouldn't put peanut butter or anything like that in this one. You can trim the rubber tabs to adjust the difficulty to your dogs skill level. I use a small kibble and I did trim some tabs off partly because it was difficult for Charlie to figure out what he was supposed to do. No that he knows I think I would trim it less on the next one we get just to make it trickier (and keep him busier even longer!). And finally the sound it makes isn't to bad. The squeak isn't crazy loud and the rubber of the toy is soft enough that it doesn't make a huge racket while they are playing with it. The rubber does have a weird vanilla-y scent that never really goes away. Don't even waste your time trying to wash it or air it out. The first one we had spent plenty on time out in the sun and rain and still smelled funny. I'm fairly sensitive to smells and while this one is strong I don't mind it. But if you are sensitive about smells you may want to order this one with the plan to possibly need to return it!

The Thing About the Chuckle....
The little noisemaker in the center bar makes a clicking sound when the toy is moved in a certain direction. I have a Dal. I have had Dals since I was a kid and I am now approaching 70. I am retired now so I get to have more time and fun with my Dal. I also have 2 other dogs, a Chihuahua and a Corgi mix. I love them all, but Dals are different, not smarter, not better, just different. My Dal gets the treats out of the Chuckle and shares them with the two little dogs. He is very sweet, but in human terms, not the sharpest knife in the drawer. So after all the treat pieces are out of the chuckle, my Dal hears the noisemaker moving about and I guess, assumes it is a piece of a treat still in one side of the dumbell. He used to have a Waggle, and when there was just one piece of something left inside that he could not get out he would bring the waggle to me and literally throw it at me until I got the last piece out for him. Well, this thing moving around in the Chuckle drives him nuts. After he has emptied it he stills hears something moving inside it so he throws it at me. I try to explain that there is actually nothing edible in the thing and give it back to him, but to no avail. He takes it, makes a circle of the house, comes back and throws it at me again. This will only end when I hide the thing until the next morning. (The treat bone is a once a day routine, done only in the morning, about an hour after breakfast.) This is why I give it 5 stars. I gotta love any toy that brings a bit more fun and joy to a dogs life. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, this toy, like the Waggle seems to be a durable, quality product. The Waggle lasted almost 2 years of daily use until it eventually got demolished. My Dals have never been fond of keeping toys. They would much rather see what they are made of. Most toys last an average of 30 mimnutes, 15 if there is a squeaker involved. Funny thing is he does not destroy the little dogs toys, only his own. Anyway, I think the Chuckle might meet or even exceed the 2 year survivability limit of Dal toys actually in daily use.

Durable Challenging Safe & Customizable!
Best "Puzzle" toy so far! Tested by all 7 of our dogs (an Australian Cattle Dog, a Pointer, a Pit Bull, a Lab, and three terrier and Lab mixes) ranging in age from 14 to 3 and in size from 30 to 85 lbs. This “puzzle” toy has several advantages over all the others we've tried (and we've tried them all.) It's the most durable and most challenging puzzle toy we've found so far. It's a great thing to put a wide variety of "treats" or food in and totally safe for dogs to have while alone or with little supervision. You can stuff it with anything from smaller dry "treats" or kibble to soft treats or pieces of chicken, cheese, peanut butter, banana, pureed pumpkin, or raw and canned dog food even; whatever your dog enjoys. (*A little tip though, it can be as challenging to clean out as it is for your dog to get the treats out of it. But I found that I can pour vinegar inside the crevices, rub around the inside a little with my finger, let it soak for a minute, and rinse it out really good to clean and disinfect it from any gross wet food inside.) It also has two ends so you can cut out a couple of the rubber prongs and make one side more difficult than the other. So it's customizable which is really nice because "puzzle" toys have a learning curve. Some dogs need them to be very challenging and some not so much. If it's too difficult in the beginning they may become frustrated and lose interest but conversely, once a dog figures it out, they can also lose interest or just go through the treats very quickly. This toys solves that dilemma because one side can be made a little easier than the other. It also doesn't really make much noise either; which we prefer. Although it does make a chuckle sound, it has to be shaken really hard and it’s still not loud.

My dog"s best friend
I bought one of these two years ago and it is so good that I bought the same item again a few months ago. The initial one is still unbroken despite being chewed on a daily basis. It is ideal for all sorts of games with my dog who has destroyed an enormous number of other dog toys which were supposed to be sturdy. Now we have a spare one for times when one goes missing and my dog likes to carry both together too!

Very robust
Bought this for my dogs chrimbo, he is very hard on toys, but this stands up to his heavy chewing as he is preoccupied with trying to get treats from inside it. There are tabs which you can cut to suit the size of treat your dog likes and as they are on both ends you can trim these to suit two different size treats.

Gave the jaws a workout
Ok but dog managed to desqueak it in less than an hour. However, gives the jaws a good workout and she obviously loves it but it'll be in the bin shortly as it's just not robust enough for a rottweiler.

ideal for toy loving dogs who need to entertain themselves
the only truly indestructible toy that goes everywhere with our one year old Lab. Bought as a replacement only because he lost the first one and after several inferior products which he managed to destroy I was delighted to find this one again. Doggy heaven!
