Overall we're pleased with this Pfister F529EMCGS Masey Touchless Kitchen Faucet

Installation instructions are mostly adequate but a few places would benefit from additional explanatory text. It comes with a 1.8 gpm aerator whose diameter is smaller than the 2.0 gpm aerator on our old faucet. With the water valve wide open, we experienced too much spraying back off the bottom of the sink. They offer replacement options of 1.5 gpm or 1.0 gpm aerators. We called Pfister and ordered the 1.5 gpm aerator; it was free. The spraying back is gone now. Turning off the faucet with the motion detector takes some getting use to. Here's what I have learned. Move hand, or object you're holding, within 3 inches of the motion detector. Then move out of the 3 inch range. Then the water will turn off. If you keep moving in the 3 inch range until the water turns off, you may accidentally cause it to turn on again! UPDATE: The 3-inch range to activate the motion detector apparently applies to the reflectivity of non-shinny surfaces like human skin. We have Farberware stainless steel pots and pans and have discovered, while rinsing them under the running faucet, the water will be toggled off! Testing reveals that moving one of these shinny pots and pans within approximately 7.5 inches of the motion detector causes it to toggle off or on, as the case may be. Smaller pots and pans can be rinsed off to the side away from the the line of sight of the motion detector. But, this is not possible with a large roasting pan! There is no way to modify the sensitivity of the motion detector, as far as I can tell. The is a switch under the sink which can turn off the motion detector and have the faucet work line any other.

Great upgrade to my kitchen.

I would have given it a 5 star review if the motion sensor was on the left side, not in front just behind the water stream. It works well in all other aspects. Good water flow, good spray head that swivels for easy sink clean up.

Easiest faucet I've ever installed.

By far the easiest installation I have ever done on a faucet. The TopPfit feature is awesome. The sensor works good, takes a little getting used to. Installed this yesterday so I don't have any long term experience to fairly rate the durability and quality. But so far, the out of box experience and quality is 5 stars. If this faucet holds up for the long haul, I will only purchase Pfister products in the future. I also like the 1.8 GPM flowrate since the new sink is very large and deep. It includes two flow restrictors for those who want or are required to save water.

Square Base May Overhang on Certain Under Mount Style Sinks.

We are nearly done remodeling our kitchen, so a new faucet was on the list. I already had a no-touch faucet, but I prefer the design of this one in reference to the sensors location. My other faucet had the sensor located up and under the arch, so guests had no idea and would keep shutting the water off at the handle. The sensor location on this faucet is located on the front of the base and easier to see, so visitors are less likely to mess with the handle. This faucet also runs on batteries, which means that it will still work when the power goes out. My other faucet had to be plugged in and would not work when the power went out, unless you climbed under the sink and messed with it manually. This was never worth it because by the time I got done fighting with it the power would come back on and then I'd just have to climb back under the sink and put the setting back. This faucet is easy to install, but for that to happen the faucet comes in 2 pieces. This design allows it to be tightened from the top (instead of climbing under the sink and doing it from the underside). Don't worry, the included instruction are pretty easy to follow if you don't understand what I'm referring to. You basically tighten it from the top access and then put the top half of the faucet on once it's tightened to the sink. You obviously still need to get under the sink to plumb it in, but now you don't have to finagle up underneath the bottom of the sink to tighten the actual faucet on. I also love the soap pump that comes with this faucet. Usually the soap pump is barely even something that has to be mentioned because theyr'e all pretty standard. However, this pump is easier to use and can be pumped 2 different ways. It works like the standard pumps that pump up/down, but this one also can just be titled forward at the spout too. I also like that it is a bit bigger than some of the other pumps. The only issue I have with this faucet is the square-style base can be an issue with a lot of the under mount style sinks. If you have a drop-in sink then it should be fine, but the under mount style sinks have the countertop cut/contoured around the sink basins and some of those cut outs are close to the edge. Basically because the base is squared, it may slightly overhang on the countertop edge depending on where the faucet hole is located on your style/model of under mount sink. I feel like this faucet is more ideal for a drop-in sink. The sprayer hose works well and has 3 different functions. The power spray does work well, but you will get a lot of water mist spraying back when using this.... kind of like the jet function on an outdoor hose. I love that the sprayer hose has a magnetic fit. Meaning it clicks back into place better than with just the weight alone. Overall this is a great faucet, but just be careful if you have an under mount style sink because of the square base that this faucet has.

Review from a Mom

I'm going to write this review from the perspective of a mom - not a plumber/contractor type. We had a leaky faucet in our kitchen, and it needed to be replaced. My husband has always loved the idea of motion-activated anything, so he chose this. On the surface, this is a nice, sleek faucet. It's clean and modern, and with the brushed finish, isn't going to show a whole bunch of fingerprints and grime. You can adjust the water flow and temp with the standard lever on the side that shifts toward you (to make it hot) and back for cold. By widening the lever from the base, you increase water flow. You can't argue with the brilliance of a motion-activated faucet, particularly in the kitchen. Raw poultry, anyone? And you can use this like a typical faucet if you take the batteries out. I guess the brilliance -and the issue - of the motion-activated sensor (located at the nexus of the lever and faucet head) is that it will sometimes switch off in the middle of a job - such as washing a pot. If your object gets too close to it, water stops. And on an old-school level, I'm just not used to it. I've spent over 45 years turning on faucets in the "regular way." I find myself turning it on and off like usual, which doesn't vibe with the motion-detector. I guess in time I'll get used to it, but for now, it's just like an awkward blind date.

This is my second faucet from Pfister as their quality is right there with the other big brands with fantastic support.
