Vague Instructions. Incorrect Hardware. Quality seemed lacking for $169.
Not entirely thrilled with this purchase. The light looks great in pictures online that show it with the chain, but no pictures of the semi-flush mount. Once put together, it's pretty nice looking -- but the whole unit seems somewhat flimsy and in that I mean.. it easily moves left-to-right and is hard getting the entire thing looking straight. Reminds me of a picture that you just can't get to stay level on the wall in that sense. Hopefully other people don't have this problem as much if they didn't use an electrical box that went between joists and had extension arms like I did. Those boxes are height adjustable, so have a little give to them.. and this lamp has some give at the ball nuts.. and the way it mounts to the electrical box bracket has some give.. so it all adds up to something that can move some as far as I can tell. I'm hoping it only really needs to be adjusted again when light bulbs are changed & I plan on putting led bulbs in there so they don't have to change that often. Something else I really didn't like -- it had some epoxy or glue running down the metal rod in a few places. I assume that's what is holding this small metal ring at the top of the rod where the curly metal "arms" attach. The epoxy drips are not acceptable at all to me when the fixture is $169+. I tried scraping with a plastic razor blade, which didn't work -- then very carefully with a metal blade, but still wasn't able to get it all off. I half-thought about returning it & had I knew what else I might be in store for.. I probably would have. The absolute worst part of the entire installation was figuring out what the installation instructions are trying to show you with a single diagram and virtually no written instructions -- then what I assume were the WRONG SIZE screws given in the hardware bag. There are parts that had to be removed or not used when mounting semi-flush and instructions are not very clear what you don't need to use. When installing semi-flush, the entire lamp is held by screws that thread down through the bracket that attaches to the electrical box. Then the lamp goes up and the cover at the top of the ceiling over the screws. Then the ball nuts go on. So essentially the whole fixture is held by the ball nuts & cover. It's slightly over 13lbs and I guess this is normal for some lamps to hang this way, but it just seems odd not to have it supported better.. especially with the issues I experienced with it being flimsy. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the instructions weren't telling me. Speaking of the horrible installation experience, as mentioned the screws provided in the hardware packet seem to be the wrong size? Maybe I'm missing something, but when I threaded them through the electrical box bracket and then installed the lamp with its cover to the ceiling, there was almost 1/2" of screw thread hanging out. The ball nuts only thread on a few threads.. so it would have caused the fixture to hang down from the ceiling a good 1/4-1/2". That doesn't make sense for the fixture cover to hang down like that. Again, more time spent trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.. but I don't think I was doing anything wrong. Maybe some people wouldn't have tightened the screws all the way down and adjusted the height of the threads extending from the bracket that way -- but then when you tighten the ball nuts on.. the entire screw moves or it makes removing the fixture down the road difficult if the ball nuts are on there tight & screws are rotating with them & you don't have access to hold onto the screw except up in the attic. I wanted the screws in there tight with lock nuts. That meant cutting down screws, because apparently these are too long. I spent more time trying to get the screws the right length & had their not been snow on the ground, would have ran to Home Depot, but instead spent a few hours trying to cut screws and de-burr them (using a tap and die set most people wouldn't have) so the ball nuts easily threaded over them. The real kicker for me was finding out only after I had purchased and installed this fixture that they were having a promotion for a $25 Amazon Gift Card if ordering a fixture from Progress Lighting over $100 (which I did). Problem is, it had to be manually added at time of checkout and not something automatically applied. I missed it.. because it was further down on the product page. I contacted Amazon and got a response saying they couldn't do anything and if I wanted the promotion I'd have to return the fixture and re-order with the code applied. It's my fault for not seeing it, but it wasn't something they made very apparent & I'm disappointed Amazon didn't come through for me on the promotion. I bought $169+ fixture, had a heck of a time installing it.. and then find out I also missed out on a promotion I fully qualified for. It just added to the frustration of the experience with this lamp. I'm not deducting stars for this though since it's more of an issue with how Amazon setup this promotion. 3/5 stars is because of installation being horrible and lamp feeling overall flimsy and having problems like epoxy/glue dripped in several areas. I'm adding a picture so others can see what a semi-flush mount looks like. I'm going to try and forget this whole experience.. it may take a while. It's not a horrible looking lamp. It wouldn't be a horrible installation if they'd work on the instructions more & provide the correct hardware & a few more diagrams. But man, as far as installation instructions go for anything.. this is among the worst and I only realized it when I got half-way into the install. The lamp isn't bad looking once installed.. but it should not take 5+ hours to install something like this for a few small issues that could be easily resolved. I hope this review helps some people.

Elegant fixture
We were looking for a fixture to hang in our entryway and this fixture was exactly what was needed. The scroll work lends and air of elegance to the fixture and the brushed nickel adds the impression of modern styling. This fixture does require one person with four hands or two people to assemble it. Given that requirement, it went together well. To hang the fixture, again two people are needed in order to get it wired because of its weight. Once in place it produces a beautiful, warm light that is very welcoming to visitors. We recommend this fixture for anyone looking for a classy light in an open area.

It's decent. Chop the screws
Funky to install. Screwed are way too long for the electrical box. It's awkward with the screws sticking out.

Progress Lighting Torino Grouping
So the lady at our local store could not get my estimate put together in a timely manner. I went online, and ordered the entire collection from Amazon, enough light fixtures for a 4000 sq ft new build. My experience was AAAAA++++++ with Progress Lighting. Not only did I get a better price, I have the most beautiful lights throughout my new home. They shipped quickly and accurately. I would do it this way again. I Highly recommend Progress Lighting.

Looks Great
Twenty-five years after building our home, we decided it was time to update the kitchen. The style of our home is what I would call (with a smile) California French Country. We removed the recessed florescent lighting to switch a tray ceiling with recessed lights and this light as a center piece. It was easy to assemble and of good quality and looks great.
