I shopped for several days, researching all the mail boxes that were available both here at Amazon and at several other mail-box sites. I wanted a simple box where mail could be easily dropped and extracted. I needed a stainless steel box so it wouldn't rust. Didn't need security features with lock and key (none on this mail box). The box is definitely large enough for books and small packages. Has a window to see when there is mail. And there is a little latch at the bottom of the window that can be raised to extract mail. I did have one worry, and that was rain and waterproofing. So I took a chance and made the purchase. Delivery was prompt. Installation was easy. Pre-drilled two holes onto a wood surface. Inserted plastic anchors and metal screws. Then a few minutes with a screwdriver fixed the box firmly into place. I tested the mail box by drenching the outside of the box for several minutes with a water hose. I thought I'd find water all through the mail box, but that wasn't the case. I did find two single drops of water at the bottom of the box, that's all. Then the box was subjected to heavy rain storms, but there has been no problem at all with wet mail. So, I'm rather pleased with this mail box. It was an excellent buy at $33 dollars. But now I see the price has been bumped by $19 dollars up to $52 dollars. So I am withdrawing my original 5 star recommendation. I'm downgrading my review to 3 stars. This mail box is still a decent quality product. But it's no longer priced as a bargain.

Box is attractive and large enough to handle those heavy mail days. The slide up door is semi transparent so you can see if there is mail in the box and is useful for removing all the mail. I would have given 5 stars but I found wet mail during a heavy rain day. I am not sure if this was a problem with the postman or the mailbox. I need to due some testing.

Great to see mail without opening up

Beautiful appearance and functionally, its great to see if mail is inside with just a glance. Window slider feels smooth and like it will last. Lost a star because the "stainless steel " is very magnetic, indicating a low grade of stainless material. Hoping the finish lasts in the weather. Its a strong box with a good gauge of steel. Needed something solid for all of our Amazon deliveries. Probably could not find a better mailbox. Hopefully I will never have to !
