good Replacement part
Unplug the power to the controller. Close main valve to the irrigation system. Disconnect the two wires unscrew valve and replace. Reconnect in reverse order. Done test it that is all. Completed in 5 minutes.

Exact fit replacement
I don't know how long these are supposed to last, but I had to replace one in maybe 15 seasons of use, which isn't too bad. Very easy to replace, works great.

Great direct replacement Rainbird solenoid.
Took me longer to get the water supply turned off then replacing the solenoid. Turn water off Remove wires from old solenoid Unscrew old Screw in new until snug Attach wires Water supply back on Test

My sprinkler system had an error on it one morning and zone 7 wasn't working. The display was 7 err. So, I checked out a video on YouTube and thought this might be the way to go. I purchased two just in case I needed a backup or if another zone would go one the blink. Anyway, I looked in the Rainbird control box (where the error code was) and located zone 7, (green wire). Then I went into the yard and removed the lid to the valve box to try and locate the green wire for that zone. Wasn't in the first valve box so had to try the next one. It was in that valve box but it wasn't attached to a solenoid? So, what they did was attach it to a yellow wire, (guess they ran out of green). So, back to the other valve box. It had a yellow wire. Then I unscrewed the solenoid just enough so the zone would come on, zone 7 came on so correct wire. Shut the water off, then replaced the solenoid and turned the water back on. Still had the error so I had to reset the control panel then tried zone 7, works great... Give them an A+++

Authentic Rain Bird
These are so easy to swap out and nothing beats authentic Rain Bird products. I landscaped my entire front yard using nothing but Rain Bird and it came out fantastic!! I actually purchased this solenoid because I thought my old one burned out but it turned out I had spider webs in my back flow and it was affecting the pressure somehow (Still a mystery). Anyway I do highly recommend you go authentic Rain Bird and stay away from the knock off brands. They last much longer and they are very well made, sure you are paying a few bucks extra but IMO it’s worth it. It’s an incredibly easy install. Turn off your clock so you don’t get a mild shock for starters. Then with a pair of wire strippers cut your old solenoid from the zone wire and then peal off a nice fresh piece of wire with your strippers. Twist the wires together and cap off with a grease cap wire nut (for water proofing). Next cut the common wire and repeat the same process. Turn your clock back on and you should be ready to roll.
