Great boot, when you know what a HUNTING BOOT is!
Hunting is not the typical trudging through the woods, rifle or camera at the ready, endlessly marching "stalking" prey. It's hiking for a while and then standing, usually in the snow for a long long time being as still and quite as you can. Hunting boots need to be loose for two reasons. First, as your standing there being as still as possible your heart rate is at rest and you need unrestricted blood flow to your feet or they will freeze. Second, insulation has to be loose to work, it's called "loft". Most think "pac boot" has something to do with the rubber toe, but it's actually because it's supposed to be a warm boot "packed" into a tougher outer boot. The advantage is that you can remove the sweat laden inner boot to clean it and dry it, or to simply change it out if it gets wet or compressed. Things I really like about this boot: It's sized right, I wear a 13E and it fits like a 13E should. The sole is stiffer than every other pac boot I can find these days. To offer a comparison, these fit and feel exactly like I remember the original Sorel Carabou's did back in the 80s. Back when they were quality made, honest pac boots, with the old Vibram logger sole, norweigen welt etc etc. These rockys are WAY better than the modern Carabou, with the fake welt and sole so soft I'm sure it's made out of kitchen caulk. I highly recommend this hunting boot for a variety of winter outdoor activities, such as hiking, hunting, outdoor chores, or walking downtown with your special lady. Pretty much anything in the snow you have to do for more than an hour these really shine! As great as these are, they do have their limitations, so I also have some winter activities for which I don't recommend them. These include outdoor break dancing, skipping, exhibitionism, polarbear plunges, walking on your hands (these do nothing to keep your hands warm) , wind sprints, babysitting, street corner rap battles, grammar policing, and singing as loud as you can (caroling excepted). If you've ever been hunting, you will appreciate what these boots offer in all winter conditions. If you expecting to go mountaineering, these boots won't offer enough support. If you expect to run in these, they'll get soaked in your sweat and you feet will freeze. If you want to look uber chic, well, rock these hard core! Or don't, whatever.

Sizes run very small and horrible insulation insert.
This is my 2nd pair of Rocky boots. My first pair Ive had for many years but I only wear them for snow shoveling or snowblowing. I wear an 11.5 in most normal shoes. My old pair of Rocky boots also have an insulation liner. I bought size 12 in those but the toe box has been too short (top to bottom) with the liner in. So I decided to buy this new pair. I purposefully went up to size 13. The new boots came and they look very nice but when I put my foot in it was immediately crushed from both sides. I couldn't figure how a size 13 was too small for my 11.5 foot. I took out the liner and to my shock, it is an incredibly stiff and cheaply made insert. It is poorly shaped and crushed my foot while in the boot. I then compared to my old Rocky boots insert. That insert is a nice soft insulation with a MUCH better design. I ended up using my old 12 inserts in these new 13 boots and that seems to work out well. I'd like to recommend these boots but the liners are truly awful. I even had my Dad try them on who wears a size 8.5 and they hurt his feet as well. Rocky needs to switch back to their old liner style. You can see in my pictures the old soft liner on the left and the new stiff liner on the right. Also the shoe laces are thinner than my old boots.

Description labels as MEN's Boot, but the sizing is more like womens size.
I ordered the boots as a gift for a friend, he wears a size 12M boot. The description stated that they ran small so I ordered a size up as recommended, 13M. He was not able to get his foot in the boot at all. The boots were closer in size to a men's size 10 or 11, which would lead me to believe the sizing is more like a women's size 13 rather then a men's size 13. The boots although seam to be very well made and high quality, hopefully they will fit one of his kids.

Order 2 sizes bigger
I wear A size 9 1/2 I ordered a size 10. They came in a plain Amazon box and had obviously been worn. I couldn't even get them on they were to small. I sent them back and ordered a size 12. They came in the manufactures box and were brand new and fit very well.

Love the boots
Love the boots. Hate the sizing. Furthermore somebody is dropping the ball on attention to detail. All seven sizes shown available are advertised as "2E" width. (wide) I get two pairs of "M" width boots. (Mediums). A ten usually fits perfect or gives me a little wiggle room. These were like giving my toes an enema. EDIT; I concur with the previous reviewer. The insert is so tight that you'll need to order at least two full sizes larger to fit. And the boots without the insulated liner are no more than a skin. And no footbed. It would seem ALL the sellers of these boots rely on Amazon to advertise correctly. These boots are not available in wide. They're all medium.

Very Tight
I wear a size 10.5 so I purchased a size 11 to accommodate boot socks. The boot is very good quality, well constructed but the cushion insert makes the boot extremely tight. I even tried wearing the boot without socks and still it felt uncomfortable. I would recommend one full size up when ordering.

New liners are junk!
General boot quality is same or similar to old boots. Or at least they feel similar . The liners however are straight up garbage. They're way too tight and feel way cheaper than the old liners. Was expecting a nice soft comfortable liner like before, instead got cheaply made generic liner. The sewing job on the seams of the new inserts appears as if you let a toddler sew it together, loose and dangling strings everywhere. And just generally looks sloppy. Really wanted new boots that would directly replace the ones I've worn and loved for years, instead got cheap generic junk, Rocky boot quality has definitely diminished over the years. If you own an older pair of these boots, don't expect to get a good replacement for your old pair with these unless your old liners are still in tact. The cherry on top of it all was one of the new cheap liners came in the wrong size, so Rocky couldn't even bother to have decent quality control after cutting corners on the liners smh...

The Quality Is Suspect At Best
The boots looked OK when I received them...I mean for a sub $100 boot I was not expecting much to be honest. However a few weeks later as I am preparing for my hunting trip and really checking out the boots, I pulled out one of the insulating liners and was amazed how poorly these were constructed. The bottom of the liner is stitched to the upper and the stitching had come out of most of the back on one of them and part of the back on the other. Really horrible stitching job. This made me take a better look at the entire boot and you can just see how poorly the cuts are done and how badly the seams from material to rubber are done. I have not even worn these boots other than to check the fit and I started the return process as I am doubtful these boots would last more than one outing, and even so they did not look like they would keep out moisture. I am not willing to risk it. Fit was ok...I had gotten a size larger as recommended by others.

Great, warm boots. Unfortunately, they are a bit tight on my feet.
