Highly effective, easy to use, and has made my father’s transfer processes exponentially easier.
My father is permanently disabled, with the following conditions: - deaf & blind - 37 surgeries, and cannot walk, even with a walker. - has a non-union or his right femur (3 years old) that precludes him from putting any weight on his right leg. He is 5’10, approx 185 pounds and while he cannot walk, he does have full use of his arms. The first time or two using the transition disc were a bit of a learning experience. The disc has enough friction between its internal surfaces that it doesn’t spin loosely, and even demands a either a) quick rotation of the hips to spin, b) the use of hands and arms to manually turn while on the disc, or c) a third person to help spin. Once he got the motion down, his ability to transfer from chair to chair, in and out of the car, or in to his wheelchair is incredibly easy and without strain to his right leg. I would totally recommend this product for people who need assistance doing their turns and transfers. It is worth noting, however, that a person with very weak arms or who is slight in stature might need assistance with the rotation.

Not For Us
This was the second disc of this type that I had ordered for my husband and once again had to return. It's a wonderful concept...it just did not work for us. He is not able to stand up straight and sometimes leans severely to one side. I so wanted it to work because we are having a lot of difficulty with that 90° pivot from couch to wheelchair, wheelchair to bed, etc. For others who are able to stand, I think it would be absolutely wonderful!

Worked perfectly
I bought this disc to help my mom get from her bed to the chair. She was unable to step very much, or very well, so I thought if I could get her to stand on this, I could just pivot her 90* to the chair, and it worked just as I planned. It wasn’t too spinny at all and supported her weight just fine. I was grateful to find this product.

Los giros que se hace con una persona de movilidad reducida
Me gusto mucho el producto pero hubiese sido mejor si hubiera tenido un poco más de altura

Does what it's supposed to do.
Works well. I'm transferring someone with ALS from chair to commode to wheelchair to bed, and I'm able to place her feet on the disc, lift and turn her without her feet dragging or needing to be repositioned. Definitely an improvement. Requires a little effort to turn, which is expected; you wouldn't want it to spin too freely. I'm using the 15" model, which I think makes it easier to position her feet, but my feet have to be wider apart. I'm positioning everything at a 45 degree angle, so it's essentially one quarter turn; I don't really have to reposition my own feet, just shift my weight from one leg to the other. I think 90 degrees would be more difficult; but I haven't tried it..

This didn’t help my dad get out of the car.
This transfer pad didn’t really help transfer my 86 year old dad. He is 5‘5“ and 180 pounds. The pad didn’t really help as dad‘s buns hung over the edge of the pad. The pad is thin and firm. So he still had a really hard time turning to get out of the car. Plus he complained that it was hard. I did find a really good use for it! It sits under my Kureg. I can turn the Kureg and easily fill the water reservoir with a cup. The Kureg sits under a cabinet. Prior to this I was unplugging and pulling the pot our from under the counter to fill the water reservoir.

WORKS GREAT!!
I am pre double hip replacement and i was putting washclothes on floor to step on for easy transfers, I almost called my son one day and said he needed to make a round turning disc. for me to transfer without feeling like I was going to fall... I looked on Amazon and searched i think it was Transfer disc. and this popped up. as long as I have grab bars to turn my upper body this works AMAZING!! IT WORKS EXACTLY LIKE I NEEDED. IF I DONT HAVE GRAB BARS IT IS A BIT HARDER TO TURN WITH MY WEAK LEGS AND HIPS. BUT I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE IT TO TRANSFER INTO MY BED. THANK U FOR WHO EVER INVENTED THIS ....

It works but…
This is meant for use on hard surfaces, not carpet. Doesn’t sit flat on the carpet so it doesn’t spin well when used. Maybe that was mentioned in the reviews or description and I overlooked it.
