Extremely stiff

This bag keeps things dry when sitting in water in the bottom of a boat, but it is extremely stiff which makes it a little more challenging to seal properly, and tough to get into a small kayak hold and pack other things in there with it.

Looked heavily built but seam leak developed the second time it was used.

We had it by itself in a smooth plastic box for protection. The second time we used it water spurted out of a pinhole area right on the side seam so the bag leaked all of its water. Perhaps the bag is not strong enough to work as a rinse bag for underwater camera gear.

Good Enough Clear Dry Bag, X-Small

I bought thisSeattle Sports Glacier Clear Dry Bag X-Small to keep my stuff dry while paddling (canoe, kayak, dragon boat, outrigger, etc.). This bag is clear, making it easy to find and retrieve what you need, a big plus. It seems pretty sturdy, made out of a material similar to VERY heavy vinyl shower curtains. Definitely waterproof, but not submersible for long periods of time. I filled it with air, rolled the top down 3 (or more times) and submerged the seal area in a sink full of water. When I applied pressure to the bag, a fine stream of air bubbles streamed out from one corner of the fold down seal area. Not a hole, but a small channel is formed along the seam weld at the edge near the buckle hardware. This tiny channel is not pinched off even when you fold the top down more than 3 times. If you stored this bag with the closure area under water for a long time, I believe it would eventually allow some water to seep in. As far as sea spray or rain goes, I think this bag would keep stuff bone dry. If you were in a boat that capsized, this would probably keep your stuff dry until you could get it back in the boat. I would put electronics in an additional baggie or protective cover inside, and top the pile of stuff with a small towel to catch possible dribbles. Other reviewers cautioned that the buckle hardware breaks. Mine hasn't yet, but this doesn't worry me, as I have the necessary skills to attach a replacement buckle when and if it breaks. All in all, good enough!

So many uses, holding up great!

I’ve used this bag all summer and it’s still going strong! Initially purchased it to replace a smaller plastic pouch that held our pool toys to keep the rest of the pool bag items dry, but then it became my dry bag for swim team practices, went on several kayaking trips, and even took a trip under water In the ocean with zero leaks. Would definitely buy again!

Just what I needed

This is a great addition to my dry bag collection for kayaking. It's basically my purse on the water. I can see my phone, keys, sunglasses, lip balm and sunblock. No more blindly digging through a big old bag. All my essentials are visible and in one place.

Very long rather than wide

The product is of good quality, however it is difficult to pack since it is long and narrow rather than a bit wider and shorter which anyone would prefer- you have to dig everything out to get to the middle or bottom. No horrible, but it could definitely be shorter and wider.

Best Dry Bag for Boating, water sports

I have owned a Seattle Sports clear dry bag for 15 years, and it still works great. Put your wallet, phones, anything important, seal it up and if it falls in the lake or ocean it will float! This bag has saved our phones many times! I love that it is clear so we can see inside it doesn't get as hot as the dark bags. Great bag and I highly recommend it...so I just bought a new one!

Great for small, water vulnerable objects!

Bought this as a gift for someone who always has things falling out of his pockets, works great for those small items you want to keep nearby but also want to keep dry. If there was any downside to this product its that there are no written directions on how to use it most efficiently if you've never used one, so it may take some trial and error, but once its closed its really effective.
