Sexy & Super comfortable

Shorter than the regular "Ranger Panty" and the ladies at the gym love the See Thru effect when I am working out.

confort to the max

Extremely comfortable, very light (2.8 oz according to Amazon), total freedom of movement. Like wearing nothing at all, only better. The built in liner keeps things nicely in place and out of trouble. Dries quickly, and stays comfortable all day. Seem to be well-made, as for the inseam, who knows. For the same garment, I found it listed as 4.5", 6.5" and 8.5". I bought both the Marathon (this item) and the Ranger "panty". The cut is almost exactly the same for both. The Ranger lists the inseam as 2.25". Also found that for a couple dollars more the Marathon is made of noticeably thicker and softer material, and the elastic in the leg holes is much wider and stronger. Only draw back is that it does not come in the rainbow of colors as the ranger.

Inner brief much better than the original

I am a fan of the original Men's Soffe Running Short (aka "Ranger Panty") so I wanted to try these new Soffe "Ultra Marathon" shorts out. First off, I am so glad they made the cut of the inner brief similar to most higher end running shorts like Asics and Brooks. The inner brief on the original Soffe running short has a crazy wide crotch so this is why most guys say the inner brief is too baggy and lacks support. The inner brief on this new short is cut higher in the leg and has thicker elastic in the leg openings. It prevents your manhood from moving around much better because the width of the crotch is much more "reasonable" like other competition running shorts. The description says that the inseam is 3.25" which is suppose to be longer than the original Soffe running short which has a 2.25" inseam. I was hoping this was true because I am 6'4" tall and would have liked a little more length in the leg. However, the 2 pairs I received in each color have the same short inseam as the originals so that is why I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5. I found the sizing to be very close to the original so if you own some of those go with the size you normally buy. If you have never gone for a long Saturday morning run in a pair of Soffe's nylon tricot running shorts you don't know what you are missing. Yes, they are short, thin and sheer, but they are the lightest and coolest running shorts you will ever wear. They don't chafe and they dry really quickly so if you are man enough to show a little leg, give them a try. Hey Soffe, a matching singlet to go with these shorts would be awesome!

Perfect except for one major flaw

I love the fit and look and feel of these. I bought them specifically for running. The darker colors are a lot less translucent than the solids in the original line, and they're called "Ultra Marathon," suggesting that they're suitable for running. Finally, I read lots of reviews and lots of folks talked about running but no one else mentioned my issue. Presumably due to some specific odd feature of my own biomechanics, these shorts rub and chafe the upper inside of my thighs right at the "triple seam" where the piping/trim covers the sewed seam joining the front and back fabric. I've tried them 3 or 4 times, each time ending with a fair amount of discomfort during the second half of my run and afterward. So as much as I love the idea, these just don't work for me in the setting I most hoped. So I have a couple pairs of summer knock-around-the-house shorts.

Great fit

The material is fantastic. So much so, I cut the liner out and had it made into a pair of underpants. Now I just wear some other kind of brief under the shorts. They are very light weight and feel silky against the skin. Love them.

Geeat shorts need nore options and price reduction.

Soft, durable, liner supports my parts. Excellent shorts. Price is a little high at 19.99 should reduce by say 5.00 and add more options.

Excellent shorts

This is my second pair of Soffe shorts for running, loved the first pair purchased a couple of years ago now. However the new shorts are a massive improvement, which I didn't think possible. The new cut of both the shorts and the inner makes a perfect fit. So comfortable you don't know you're wearing them. Lightweight and totally breathable, look good and feel even better.
