The outside diameter varies
I like that the rubber in these is nice and soft but still forgiving. What I didn't like is that 2 of the 6 pieces have a different outside diameter. I use this material as a base for a Contour Sander I manufacture and I needed them to all be the size that was listed in the Product information. It turns out that 1/3 of them are not usable for me. I am nervous to by any more lest I have the same or a worse issue with the diameter!

Hard to find non-toxic, high-quality closed-cell foam and other hyphenated approbations
Like another reviewer who is a musician, I was looking for foam tubing to replace the hardened foam on my guitar stand. I needed it to be a non-toxic foam because I have chemical sensitivity and latex allergy and most open cell foams make me ill. This foam did not. I had some uncertainty from the description if this foam was actually latex free or only the packaging, but I have had no adverse reactions to it. Some foams can damage the finish of musical instruments. Insulation foams such as those used on guitar stands break down and become brittle over time, while others get sticky, and they can scratch and transfer onto an instrument. This high-quality foam provides loads of padding, actually, all of the tubes I got are too thick for my purpose, but I made it work. The outside has smooth surface texture, but it is not tacky. This foam tubing worked well to replace the old crap on my guitar stand. I purchased the variety pack and ended up using the Tan color as it seemed to have the smallest inside hole size. Even though the inside hole of the smallest tube was not small enough for a fit that matched the original, but once installed, it works great and looks good. Musicians gear is often black, I would be thrilled if I could find this in a dark color, even a brown or grey.

Red Tubes are great replacements for guitar stand cradles!
I'm a professional musician and teacher, and my guitar stands get constant use all day. After a few years the yoke and cradle foam turns to goo and bare metal shows through. Most of my friends toss their stands and buy a new one, but I wanted to find a sustainable solution. And Ableware, albeit as expensive as a good guitar stand, supplies enough foam tubes in a single package to install new cradles on three stands, so reasonably cost effective if you own several stands. The install is easy and only requires a sharp knife and a few minutes of labor. First, remove the worn foam tubes and the cradle caps (plastic end pieces). Measure the old foam and cut the Ableware tube to the same size. Slide the foam tube onto the cradle wire and replace the end piece or cap and you're done! I've re-tubed eight stands in my studio and the Ableware 766900184 Red fit most of them perfectly. It was a wee bit tight on my Onstage stands and a zap of silicon lube made for an easy install. The only stand it didn't fit was myHercules GS405B SHOCK PROOF Guitar Stand . The inner diameter of the Ableware Red is too large. However, the Ableware 766900183 Tan Closed-Cell Foam Tubing with 1/4" inner diameter works great for the smaller wire (and yokes if needed). It takes two tubes for each cradle and you should have two 3 inch pieces left from each install. I used mine to make tool handles more comfy! I've tried several other rubber and foam tubes and the Ableware are the best. In fact, head and shoulders above the rest. The foam is thick and dense--far thicker than any stock guitar stand--extremely grippy and has a smooth skin to keep sweat and dust from building up. The smooth skin also makes them easy to clean. When I place my guitar in the stand the grip is sure and the ride ultra cushioned. If you slipped and dropped the guitar into the cradle it would do no harm. The cushion is that good. I don't know how long these tubes will last as my oldest one is only a year old but shows no wear. However I'm pretty sure they will last a lot longer than the cheap foam tubes that come with new guitar stands. My friends and students were impressed by the deluxe feel, grip and bright looks of the Ableware tubes. I'm probably buy some more and re-tube the stands of a few friends.

These are perfect to make them easier to grip
I work at a tourist attraction, and we have recently begun bag inspections for security purposes. Many of our staff are older and have trouble holding the acrylic rods used to search bags. These are perfect to make them easier to grip! I highly recommend using rubbing alcohol to help get the tubing onto the item, especially if you need a snug fit. Don't bother trying to cut the inside to extend them as it makes them tear. The rubbing alcohol is all you need! I was able to get 1/2 inch diameter rods in the red medium sized tubes easily with the alcohol. I removed one star because the sizes are a bit ridiculous. Where are the standard 1/4 1/2 3/4 1inch diameters? Those would have been much more helpful for my needs.

Small
Just to give an idea of how big this is.... I looked up pool noodles for floating... It is my fault cut I didn't read the description better but not worth $16 or $17 that I paid thats for sure...

Be careful of the measurements
They were much smaller than we imagined them to be we thought they would be like a big swimming noodle ,but for the reason we got them turned out be a good purchase. We got them to protect the corners of a table so my grandson Johnny does not hurt himself from the corners of the stand he likes to crawl in behind the tv when he plays hide and seek with us .but they were expensive in my view.
