Pumps good as long as you use full-flow 3/4" hoses
I use this to keep the water level on my pool down throughout the winter. It works good as long as you have full-flow 3/4" hoses on both sides. If you use smaller hoses it struggles and doesn't pump much volume. It draws 800-1000W which is horribly inefficent, but I only use it for a few hours at a time so what are you going to do..

somewhat decent price, longevity less than desirable only lasted 1 yr 1.75 months
Pump worked great...until it didn't and hasn't seen really heavy usage. I baby this thing and store it in a container. I work on alot of hydronics and only use this for special circumstances; and it now leaks out the impeller area when pumping it just started today. Glycol and water everywhere; luckily it has a switch. I tried a few times and it just keeps leaking. The top of it is hard to twist on and off even being careful not to crossthread anything when spinning it on or off to keep it primed. Wish things would be more built to last. Only lasted from November of 21' to today's review 1/17/23. Not sure if I could get another one being so close to the warranty period to give it another try but its worth a shot.

Works for me
We live in Hawaii and rely on a catchment tank for our water. I have two tanks, a large 4000 g and a smaller 2400g tank. The smaller one is not directly plumbed into our water supply. We purchased this pump to transfer water from the smaller tank to the larger one when needed. The water is gravity fed from the bottom of the tank to the pump so no real suction is needed. It is a bit loud but it transfers the water no problem.

I love the power of this pump. As with most products, it could use a minor improvement.
First, I must say that I do love this pump. I connected my hoses to the draw and flow sides, directed the output hose to where I need it to flow. When I attempted to put the strainer on the draw end of the hose, I realized it is a male end, and because how you connect the hose, you have a male end on the hose. The strainer should have a female end so it can just screw onto the hose. No matter, it is possible to find an adapter to use it. I will just have to go find one.

Know what you need before you buy...
This pump is actually too powerful for my needs. If you're looking to move rainwater from a barrel to a garden in a controlled way like I was, this is probably not the pump for you. For that it moves too much water. I tried to slow the flow a bit with a watering wand and got interrupted flow. Unhappy pump. Seems like a good product if what you need to do is move water from one place to another. Like all things having to do with water, the adapters leak. How you're suppose to use the little filter is a mystery to me. It's noisy. So, like Goldilocks my search continues... a 12v battery operated pump is not enough. This 1/2 HP is too much. A Drummond 1/10 HP is my next victim.

Pumps OK but Does not Self Prime
Most centrifugal pumps are challenged to self-prime with many not doing so at all. However, this unit is stated to be self priming and really it is not. When water is introduced into the pump changer per the pump's instructions it will suck water and prime provided the head of water to be raised (sucked) is low. But it all took readily loses that prime when turned off even though there is water remaining in the pump at the time power is removed. Subject to the above limitations this pump is OK. How long it will last remains to be seen - I've used it maybe half a dozen times in 4 months .

Small projects only
Pump is heavy and seems really well built. Using a 25 foot garden hose there is only a modest trickle at 7 foot elevation. Expectations were higher, not upset, learned a lesson.

Good little machine
I bought a smaller one and realized too late that it wasn’t going to do the job. I used this to empty my 28ft pool. Although it took a few days, it did a really good job and was fairly quiet. Although this is probably not what u want for a large job like mine, it was what I could afford and did the job. Very heavy and sturdy.

heavy duty , noisey. the plastic threaded cap that you insert into the top is very hard to thread
