... towing harness and I can finally say I am happy and comfortable with the thoughts that I don't have ...
This is my 3rd towing harness and I can finally say I am happy and comfortable with the thoughts that I don't have to mess with the wiring (from my car) again. I bought a Curt harness and installed it a few years back. All was fine and then 1 day half of the lights weren't working. I tried everything. I got them to send me a new one to replace the old one and I ended up with the same exact issue. I started to think it was my car or something else. I bypassed the box on the Curt harness on the white wire and it worked fine...for a little while. This year when I went to use my boat and half working harness, I decided to do some research. Turns out that my issue happened to be very common with that brand. I ordered this Tow Ready harness under recommendations of reviews I was reading and I couldn't have been happier. This harness looks and feels like it will withstand time riding in the back of my car. It was very simple to install as was the other one, but it feels a lot more rugged. I am hoping my trailer wiring issues are finally over. Well we all know that's impossible, but here's to hoping I only need to worry about TRAILER wiring issues from now on.

After only three weeks the box went bad, and I had no trailer lights
Let me tell you that this product saved my life, and ended an ordeal I was dealing with in regard to U-Haul. I had wiring put on my Sorento when I had the hitch installed. After only three weeks the box went bad, and I had no trailer lights. I contacted u haul and waited three weeks for a different wiring kit, only to discover it would not work. I said to heck with it, and hit up Amazon to find a writing kit to install my self, as I was so frustrated. I got this kit, and was able to install on my Sorento in less than 20 minutes, and it's been functional ever since. This harness came with, clear, easy to read instructions that made installation a breeze. They was adequate wire to make all connections and the harness was constructed of great quality materials compared to the unit I ripped off the vehicle. This was so easy to do, that I'm sure any one, who can read instructions, would have no problems installing this. The price is perfect, especially for the great quality. I recommend this harness to anyone looking for a user friendly wiring harness for their Sorento.

tedious, and about 90 minutes worth
works perfectly, and combined with the youtube video, install was a simple. tedious, and about 90 minutes worth, but simple nonetheless. the only thing that varies from the video to this kit is the module is NOT formed in, nor does it contain, an L-shape installation bracket to mount with. luckily, i had an extra self-tapping metal screw that i used to mount the module below the location that the video shows to mount the ground wire. glad i ordered this weather resistant one over the curt one that seems to have so many problems with moisture. will update this review only IF something goes wrong with it in the somewhat-near future. for ~$50, it's worth purchasing this and installing it your self. better product, and you know it'll be installed right.

Was fairly easy to install on my 2012 KIA Sorento
Was fairly easy to install on my 2012 KIA Sorento. Enough cable was provided to run a power wire from the rear to the battery in the front. Pay attention to the instructions that describe routing the wires on the rear from the driver side taillight over to the passenger side taillight. You need to take the shortest route possible to have enough length. You may also have viewed a video about installation that shows the installer using a metal bracket to hang the electronics module inside the passenger side body. That bracket is not included. I just let mine hang down inside the opening behind the taillight. Unit worked after installing.

Great fitment.
Great fitment and fast installation with some basic tools. I had it installed in about 2hrs but I am a mechanic so if you have some basic skills it can be done in 2-4 hrs.

Easy to install.
Easy to install, simple plug in adapters. Only drawback is needing a direct power source. Luckily, my car had a source behind the bumper. Without that, i would have had to run a cord all the way to the battery. There is a simpler kit for my car that would have used the stock harness for trailer attachments on my car. Tools needed: Crimper, wire cutter/stripper, tools for battery terminal if you need to run included power cord. Overall, a great product. Btw, uhaul uses this product for their hitch installations.

Just what was needed!
After the previous wiring failed; I chose this assembly based on the ratings. Installation was fairly easy however there is not much slack in the cables between the two sides, so get your connections done first before zip tying anything down.

nice kit
It is what it says it is and it does what it says it does. Fits perfectly in the SUV I bought it for. Well put together kit. Installed fairly quickly and worked the first time. One tip for 2011 KIA Sorento (maybe others) - after installing the main unit in the drivers side tail light you need to run a set of wires to the passenger side light. Make sure to run that set of wires as high as possible - otherwise they will not reach. There is very little slack in the wiring, but if you route the wires right they will fit well. I found it helpful to use a snake (pellet stove cleaning rod) to get the wires through the tight spots.
