Favorite outdoor sandals

6 years ago I bought this same sandal and pretty much wore it out. I recently ordered my 2nd pair. Though I liked the old pair, they were a bit heavy, wide & clunky compared to my new pair. The new pair seems lighter & fits my feet better. Maybe production improvements were made over those 6 years. Obviously I am pleased with and would recommend this shoe. It’s lightweight, comfortable & the soles offer good traction for outdoor use.

Well-made, comfy

The good news: these sandals seem very well made. They are surprisingly comfy for such a sturdy shoe. Great tread, but not clunky. They look nice, too! The bad news: they have a design flaw. The hook-and-eye closure (“Velcro”) has the “hook“ part on the shoe-side of the strap, not on the flap that comes over and securely latches it. Consequently, if you do not need to use the entire length of the strap to secure your sandals, some of the hooks in the Velcro remain exposed. Thus, if you kneel on carpet, or a blanket, your sandals will stick. If you cross your legs, the hooks will catch on clothing or furniture. Also, the strap that goes behind the heel rides a bit low. However, the shoes did not come off and stayed on securely so it didn’t bother me too much. I usually wear a size 7, and I ordered that size first… But they were WAY too big. Felt like clown shoes. Sent those back & in ordered size six, and that fits perfectly. .

Comfortable

Great tevas! I love love love them. Walked all over Kauai in them. I didn’t get any blisters and the traction was perfect for some of the slippery wet hikes.

Different than original teva from 20+ years ago.

The pinkie toe cover is no longer included in the design like yesteryear. Still have the same shoe from then but the new ones are thicker and more cumbersome. Still a quality product just notice the subtle changes.

Clunky, big, & wide

Really wanted to love these. The blue print is pretty. They have good arch support and feel comfortable to stand on. Got my normal size 7. I have a wide toe box. These are too long and wide. They feel clunky and uncomfortable to walk in. The heel strap sits too low on the heel. It should be higher up towards the ankle. Going to try a size 6. I got the size 6. These look, fit and feel alot better than the size 7 which felt like I was wearing saucers, clown shoes, or dive fins. The heel strap still sits low on the heel. I guess I'll live with that. On one side my big toe gets real close to the edge if the strap isn't tight. My foot may be longer on that side. I still think I'll keep these.

Fantastic sandles

I bought a pair of these over twenty years ago, I have used them for walking, going in the sea etc. all those years. The sole finally came off one, and though I intend to stick it back on and it will probably last, I thought I would treat myself to a new pair. It took a while to find some like the original design; as with all companies they feel they have to keep changing things which is annoying, but these are pretty close to the originals I bought all those years ago. If they last / perform as well as my old ones, I will be very happy! I use them for walking, paddle-boarding, kayaking, wading around in the sea, climbing over rocks...they dry pretty quickly, I haven't even looked after my old ones very well! I don't tend to rinse the sea water off, but they have lasted non-the-less. They fit beautifully and are fully adjustable (the old ones and the new) and I love the blue colour (my old ones were red). TEVA - don't change the style!! Please carry on making these ones! I might need another pair in twenty years' time......!

These shoes are fab.

Firstly, this item arrived much earlier than expected, that was a nice surprise. They fit well and to size. I have very high insteps and these sandals give very good support. I have worn them so far on a couple of longish hikes one over rough and hilly terrain, they were comfortable and supportive and have good grip. Very pleased with these.

Best walking sandals

My third pair of Teva’s, having worn two pairs out over the past 20 years and they’re exactly what I expected. I wouldn’t be without them. I love the fact that you can wade through water without taking them off and they dry quickly on your feet.

Love love love these sandals!

I had these exact sandals for 20 years until they finally died (the sole peeled apart where it was sealed but only after 20 years of wearing them, which is unheard of in most sandals). I ended up buying the same pair after looking at other brands and models because these Teva sandals do not fail to disappoint! They are comfortable and provide excellent arch support and stability. The only minor thing that I noticed is that they do not seem to grip rocks (I wore them hiking in Spain) as well as my previous model of these Teva sandals, however, it still has a very good grip. I just noticed that compared to my last ones they are not quite as ultra grippy but still very good. I also do NOT find them to be too wide. They are very comfortable in the toe area and provide excellent support. I would absolutely recommend these and purchase them again!
