Best Ironman I Have Owned
Easier to read and more stylish than any other Ironman model in my opinion. I know that chunky watches are in style, but the case is about twice as thick as it needs to be (you can through the crystal it is half empty). I would much prefer the same watch with a thinner case that would fit under the cuffs of a long-sleeved shirt.

Easy to read
Nice easy to read watch. Large number are about 10mm high, compared to about 7mm high for older style 30 lap Ironman. Actual display is a bit darker than in pictures. Wrist band is different, more flexible than older styles, and seems to fit snugly. Haven't used it in water so can't comment on that.

Another excellent Ironman watch
With its silicone watch band, it is very comfortable on my wrist. I have taken it snorkeling, worked in the yard dong very demanding tasks, and it keep on truckin'.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better watch at close to this price point
I bought this because I wanted a watch to time myself doing weightlifting sets with 15 second rest intervals. Particularly one with: 1. Big, readable display I could see basically at arm's length- I didn't want to have to pull it to the typical 12-15 inches or so to comfortably read the dial. 2. EASY to feel buttons that were easy to press and clearly one function or another and wouldn't need to be fumbled with, especially when tired 3. Pretty rugged construction 4. Strap that wouldn't acquire stank through exercise 5. Easy-to-use countdown counter that could be constantly reused without needing to be set to a specific number of seconds each time 6. A design that didn't look cancer-ridden with excessive growths, bumps, tumors and text 7. Cheap/no maintenance Overall I'd say it succeeded. -------------------------------------------- MY QUIBBLE: I knock it one star for being a bit too bulky overall. It would have been possible to design a smaller watch with just as large of buttons and display without compromising durability. Yes, the display is very large and easy to read, though substantial amount of display real estate space is wasted on the "Timex" and "Iron Man" logos. The upper and lower third of the display make use of only a tiny portion of their space in most settings. And THEN outside of the display you have a circular ring with markers. Markers would make perfect sense were this a watch with hands and you wanted to see what time it is. But it's not. So now you've now had to enlarge the whole darn thing for no reason. But I'm probably being way too picky at this price point. It's bulky on the wrist, but it doesn't impair functionality. ------------------------------(END QUIBBLE) The buttons are clearly separated from one another unlike some other sports watches, which is really excellent. Rubber strap has held up well over 6 months of use. Accuracy is nothing special for a quartz watch. Durability seems good, the raised bezel should help to protect against scuffing. Bottom line: For $40 you'd be hard pressed to find anything with a countdown timer, a display as large and decent buttons without looking like cancer

It comes with no instructions!!!
Patricia this is for you for trying to help me with the chime button and for everyone else trying to figure out the settings on this watch. I mean come on, really...no instructions!!! As best as I can figure everything is based on the lower left button. To set everything hold the top left button until time 1 flashes, then hit lower left button and the present time will start flashing. For the hour you have to hit the middle right button to go up and hour or lower right button to go down an hour. Next hit the lower left button for the minutes and do the same for it with the right buttons to go up or down and then hit the lower left button again for the seconds and the same with the right buttons to go up or down with the seconds. After that is done, the date will flash, do the same with the right buttons to change the month up or down then the day. Hit the lower left button for the year, then the right buttons to go up or down, left lower button again for 12 or 24 hour mode changing with right buttons, then left lower button again for month and date, right buttons again for each to change, lower left button again for chime, then middle right button to switch between on and off, then left lower button again for beep, middle right button again to toggle between on and off (it is the beep for hitting the buttons). After all that, it goes back to showing thime 1 display and that's when you hit the top left button after you've completed everything. It took quite some doing but I finally figured it out. Hope this helps anyone having problems setting this watch...again really...who in their right mind sells something with no instructions...that's just plain stupid in my opinion!!!!

It’s a LARGE mens watch
I want this type of timed Ironman in a smaller size for my wrist. I let is as I was “watchless” and needed something quickly. The upside is the read is huge and easy to read when on the move.

Love the modern design, larger face and display
Definitely recommend. I liked this watch so much that I bought the dark gray one also. I'm sort of glad my old Ironman died so I could upgrade to this one. It's not heavy, the display is larger as is the face size. But I was looking for that. The Indiglo works great in dimly lit areas also, without blinding me. I will say that I received 2 others and returned them as the night light option didn't work at all and the second one had similar issues. They might have needed a new battery, but I wasn't willing to open the seal and risk not keeping water out. Nevermind putting a new battery in a new watch. The seller was absolutely wonderful and I received the replacement. I wear this white one and the gray one all the time. Stylish and functional!

My favourite.
I've had many Ironman watches over the years and like this one the best. Large clear numbers and good back-light. This one bought to replace the same model that I managed break.

Batterhy was almost dead!
While the watch is great, unfortunately the battery needed to be replaced as it was losing time as soon as it arrived...about 10 minutes a day. I would recommend that the vendor ensure the battery is new BEFORE shipping. This was being given as a gift and usually Timex is a reliable brand. It was a disappointment when I was told that they had to replace the battery before using.. A manual explaining how to set the modes would also have been useful. Each setting had to be Googled in order to set the watch up properly.

simple digital watch that is just the right size and easy to read in dark with Idiglo
Finally a well though out, simple digital watch that is just the right size and easy to read in dark with Idiglo. I was looking for a watch that I can use during sports or camping, that has an alarm, large, easy to read display and clean, modern appearance without zillion useless gizmo displays. Main display tell time, including seconds, day of the week and date. Exactly what I need. Indiglo back-lights the digits not the whole display, so you don't get blinded at night. The watch is quite light. If the watch was solar and had a better band it would be the perfect digital watch.

Easy to read & good to look at!
Good watch! The silicon bracelet is smooth, functions well, and feels good on your wrist. The watch is waterproof, has a large easy to read dial, 100% digital, nothing fancy or something made in the Twilight Zone, and shows the time & day-date with the indiglo light (blue-green) that's easy to press. The basic functions are simple to set including the alarms. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the very tiny nstructions which you must obtain online. Worse, the generic instructions are reversed for this particular watch. Meaning the + is the - and drove me nuts when I was setting the time.

Ironman tries to be cool and fails.
So my trusty original ironman was lost, I decided to go all hip and get something flashier. I regret it. It's a decent watch, but it adds zero functionality to the ironman while having some new drawbacks. First of all, it's huge. Unlike every other watch company in the world that uses millimetres to describe the width of watch, Timex uses terms like 'Full size' and ‘regular’. I was under the impression my last Ironman was full size. It was the size of every other Ironman. Turns out, 'Full size' is much, much bigger. This is good because the numbers are larger. So it does help a little there. Not only is it larger around, it is stupidly tall as well. For no reason. In an apparent attempt to look more macho Time has added a good 4-5 mm of height to this watch for no reason other than adding height. There is a lot of air in there. It may even float as result. I’ll have to test that. The Timex logo which is printed on the upper glass is so high above the face it actually casts a distracting shadow on the actual face, hampering readability. My dad has a Garmin golf watch that has GPS, distance to tee, shows you the course layout to tee and all kinds of other crazy functionality built in. It’s the same size. The Start button has been moved to the right side, the green one, normally on the face of an Ironman. Due to the increased size there is plenty of blank space in the start buttons old location. They could easily have had the large numbers and kept the start button on the face. The new button placement is not good for cycling. Because the watch is so big, the Start button is now squeezed into your wrist, making it hard to actually, well, Start. So that’s not a real win there. Indiglo is present, but changed to only light up the numerals. That must have been hard to do – presumably lighting up the face is just one wire, but they actually wired every LED segment separately so they would all light up individually. It’s cool to watch. But the old ‘face indigo’ was the flashlight of last resort many a-times. It was the ‘find the tent zipper I have to pee’ flashlight, the ‘where in the backpack is the baby’s soother’ flashlight, the ‘can I make it to the camp washrooms without tripping’ flashlight. Now it isn’t bright enough to do any of those things. Looks cool though. And finally, the band. They didn’t change the band. It still has lots of holes, one of which is a touch too loose, and the next one is a bit too tight #ironmanlife. Am I going to return it? No. It’s was too cheap to bother. It does look nice. I like the big display, silly Timex shadow notwithstanding. I’ll keep it as my ‘business casual’ watch while looking for a *real* Ironman on sale. Overall it is a decent watch, it just isn't a very good Ironman
