Can't go wrong with Viking
These bits are amazing. I was complaining to my welding supply store salesman about import drill bits, and he told me to try Viking. I bought one 1/8th viking drill bit about 7 years ago. Its getting a little dull, but I do a lot of stainless and chrome moly work, so i'm surprised it lasted as long as it has. After a year of flawless service, I bought an ultra-bor set, and it's still going strong. I tend to use 1/8th for pilot holes so I bought 10 of them. I have a few for the drill press, a few for the mill, and a few for the lathe. Viking bits are a bit more expensive than import bits, but will conquer the hardest, most difficult metal time after time, and just keeps working. As a test, chuck up a piece of 316 stainless, and jam a 1/2 inch import bit into it hard. The import bit might cut it for a while, but it will fail, and it will work harden the hole. Now, the next import bit you put into that hole will not budge, and will likely burn up in a few seconds. Now chuck up your Viking 1/2 inch bit and it will jump and chatter but it will cut through that work hardened area, and finish the hole. Ultra-bor bits go through stainless like buttah. You can feed Ultra-bor bits into mild steel at alarmingly fast rates. For lube/coolant I use kerosene for aluminum, and CDC cutting oil for everything else.

Sharp
Bought these bits as a test to finally purchase another larger set of bits. I am somewhat of a (not by choice) drill bit collector. Have purchased several sets in past and am still looking for "that set of bits " So far these small 1/8 bits are impressive, but time will tell. Will I purchase a larger set of Viking drill bits? Hope so, maybe my quest will finally be completed.

You can't go wrong with these bits. Viking gets the job done!
I have a lot of holes to drill in .125 304 stainless and these do the trick. Use some cutting fluid, proper speed, and don't try to drill the hole in one pass. These bits get the job done. I had to sharpen one on the bench grinder and it was as good as new, but hey it is still the first one out of the pack. I drilled about 30 some holes so far. The only reason I touched it up on the grinder is that I did not want to burn it up and I had noticed it was not cutting quite as good as it was in the beginning.
