Ankle Straps not long enough and MUCH higher heel than pictured

Love the color-but the ankle straps are WAY too short and the heel is MUCH higher than shown in the pictures. The ankle strap is supposed to wrap twice-and they are wrapped twice around a thin cardboard form in the box---but the strap is about 3 inches too short to wrap around my thin ankles and still be able to buckle it appropriately. Can't cut the strap and wrap only once because the lock holes are on the end and don't go in far enough to only wrap once. This is a common problem-short ankle straps. When will manufacturers learn to leave some extra length on ankle straps for us? Sadly, going to have to return.
